The late Joe Sobran once remarked that Ted Kennedy was so concerned about not imposing his religion on others that he did not impose it on himself. That was a great line given the well-known antics of the late Massachusetts senator. Sadly, it carries a broader applicability in that the elite culture in Western nations now bars the assertion of even the most obvious, uncontroversial civilizational values. We can't impose our own values. We cannot celebrate the achievement of the most humanistic, most productive, most just legal culture in human history without being called xenophobic, bigoted, white supremacist, colonialist, etc. Anti-western immigrants can flout basic values such as respect for women, fundamental property rights, and the rule of law without fear of pushback of any kind. The institutional left in Britain, Canada, France, and the USA now deploy law enforcement power to crush those who sensibly call for exactly that needed pushback. We cannot assert, much less impose our values in our own countries.

There is a useful phrase found in The Parasitic Mind: How Infectious Ideas Are Killing Common Sense, by Gad Saad (2020): “suicidal empathy.” It sums up the mindset of those who need to refrain from adverse judgment of conspicuously bad behavior by designated “victim” groups. The astonishing arrogance of upscale white women who believe that the cognitive transformation of white people offered in tripe like DiAngelo’s White Fragility would simultaneously eliminate self-destructive behavior, educational dysfunction, and family breakdown in the black underclass. It is rampant narcissism metastasized into magical thinking.

Even worse are the pink-haired pro-Hamas campus leaders (almost all girls for some reason). Hamas happily offers celebratory videos of men cheering in triumph over the corpse of a sexually abused, brutally murdered young woman along with the open celebration of other atrocities and rapes. Yet, these degenerates retain guiltless victim status in the eyes of the Enlightened. People have been seen to mental asylums for lesser conflicts with reality.

The incidence of rape in both Sweden and the UK has increased largely as a result of “multicultural’ perpetrators. Here is a graph of rape in the UK:

At what point does a horrifying trend like this dissipate the joy and self-satisfaction of the multiculturalist fantasy? Despite the rather obvious growing downside, it is deemed unthinkable that residents be compelled to submit to core Western values as a condition of residence in the West, especially if their existing beliefs are overtly contrary to Western ideas about equality and human dignity.

Can we ever reach a breaking point that will cure “suicidal empathy” and allow us to live our Western heritage?

The oh-so-woke enemies of Western Civilization will be the ones who will miss it most when it's gone.

I've always wondered why these children of the West judge their own culture by its worst traits while not judging other, in my opinion, less worthy cultures by any standard at all.

Because they believe that standards of decency are natural and not imposed by a G-d of decency.

Lawlessness leads to vigilantism. In Britain, groups of white thugs have started attacking immigrants and Muslim temples. This, in turn, leads to harsh crackdowns by government on Brits who have —or might— act up. The ratchet turns only in the direction of greater coercive power against citizens; immigrant misconduct is ignored or encouraged. In this way, politicians get more power.

There isn’t a ruling class, because the status isn’t permanent; but people in power want their superiority to be permanent. This process (above) brings them closer to it. Working class people in democracies are their enemy because they have notions of equality before the law. They aren’t grateful peasants. The people in power prefer grateful peasants.

Well, peasants anyway, grateful or not.
