The SecDef was AWOL for four days ... The Defense Department did not care, because the DEI-selected SecDef does not run the Pentagon.

The Executive Branch did not care, because Biden is not in charge anyway.

Nothing changed, because we have a Deep State that ensures that nobody selected through the political process can break anything.

In much the same way that the Deep State consistently ignored Trump's Executive Orders. The elected officials and their appointees are mere window dressing, a polite fiction for a bureaucracy that is unmoored from job descriptions, and now exists purely for its own perpetuation and growth.

This post was promoted to the Main Feed at the recommendation of Ricochet's members.

I love that they blamed the Chief of Staff because he (she? they?) had the flu.

Having the flu makes it impossible to pick up a phone or send an email? Must be the Wu Flu.

But don't worry, the Deputy Secretary was in charge. Wait. She was on vacation and wasn't told he was in the hospital until two days after he transferred responsibility to her.

If I was a second in command and given the responsibilities of the primary, I'd want to know why and for how long. What did they tell her? "You're in charge. We can't tell you why."?

I thought I heard a talking head that they had him in ICU for “his privacy” not that he was critically ill. Do I have that wrong?

Yeah, The key people knew and that is all that matters, eh.

There is some speculation about the underlying reason for SecDef Austin's absence. Some think it may be due complications from the initial surgery commencing his gender transition. I can't help wondering if that story is disinformation and he was actually just "hiking the Appalachian trail".

I figure he's suffering the effects of the COVID jab he forced all military personnel to undergo.
