Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.
Kitty-cat's gonna cat,
Think I'm gonna take a nap.
Wait, is it time to eat?
Then it must be time to sleep.
It's eat, sleep, play
That's gonna take up the day
It's just what a kitty-cat does
That pleasant, little ball of fuzz.
The kitty-cat's life is hard
When the window keeps her from the yard.
The birds and the chipmunks chirp
But the cat can't do her work.
Then she holds down the bed
With her body and her heavy, little head.
Afternoon sun makes it float
Becomes her slumber-snoring boat.
Then the human makes her meal
Breakfast is the happy deal.
By supper she's bored of the choice
Turns up her nose and makes a noise.
Chase and climb and zoom
Destroy everythin' in the room
The ceramics are memories
Used to be pots for teas.
Get out her favorite toy,
Use it to tease and annoy.
Chase and attack from cover.
'Til she won't even stalk another.
Kitty-cat's gonna cat,
Think I'm gonna take a nap.
Wait, is it time to eat?
Then it must be time to sleep.
Just a bit of silliness to lighten Ricochet's mood. I may be jealous of my cat's life. What do you want to be when you grow up, friends?

All you need is an insanely cheerful girl with an acoustic guitar to play it, and you've got yourself a kid hit.

Probably, but my wife doesn't allow me to kidnap girls off the street to teach them to play guitar.

Splendid! Well done!
And none dare call it "doggerel."

Thanks, Doug, catterel, then. I whipped this up in only a few minutes while Morgana was curled up in a ball beside me before her dinner. Now, she is holding down the bed in the sunshine.

And name her Phoebe . . .
