Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.
Is this idea too nuts because some wacko place might actually adopt it?
I am seeing more frequent stories about males (boys and men) - many of whom competed as males in male sports - choosing to compete in female sports. Their defenders tell us that not allowing that is "unfair" (to the male who wants to compete as a female; no discussion of fairness to the displaced females allowed). How about we test their seriousness by proposing to eliminate the separate categories for girls' and women's sports? Rather than having males compete somewhat subtly against females, let's bring it out into the open.
Many people have pointed out that continuing to let males compete in "female" sports will eventually render "female" sports irrelevant. More males are figuring out that rather than being second-tier competitors in male sports, they can be top-tier competitors in female sports. If males continue to be allowed to compete in female sports, more males will do so. Eventually, males will dominate and take over the "female" sports. "Female" sports will be no more.
My proposal is to get that discussion about ending female sports out in the open, rather than letting female sports become sick and die gradually.
I realize the proposal carries some risk that some lunatic government body (such as the San Francisco School Board, or the Seattle City Council or the California Legislature) might actually adopt it. But I would like to hear discussed in the open the explanations of why females who want to compete in sports should defer to male competitors, and let males dominate the competitions.
To some extent the same discussion could be prompted by a proposal to eliminate separate girls' and women's physical spaces such as restrooms and locker rooms. But so far males don't seem to have pushed that idea as far as they have the sports.
Girls' and women's sports were created to allow females to compete against other females, rather than against males who are in many ways very different physically from females. In a number of areas in which society maintains segregation by sex, eliminating that segregation puts females at a disadvantage, requiring them to defer to males. Why is that a good thing? Make those who advocate it explain in the open, without hiding in the language of the make believe world of "gender identity."

I'd be surprised if the idea wasn't fully embraced by the gender crazies.
Society has already eliminated male-only spaces and is obviously working hard to eliminate female-only spaces, too.

But the point is the neo-Marxist divisiveness. Divide the people in cultural wars and then they are defeated.
And by keeping them divided, they can't unite against the real threat: our own government.

It would sure force people to pick sides. That would be very revealing.
