The Other Supreme Court Case — Raisins
Kudos to The Daily Shot this morning for including a bit on the importance of Horne v. Department of Agriculture. A friend of mine produced a good piece for Reason on the case a while back that gives a first hand account on the effects of this government takeaway.

Holding up my middle finger in the general direction of Washington, DC.
This may make me sound insane, but that raisin thing is something I can’t think about too much. I just get too angry about the utter and total injustice of it.
That’s your government folks! What would we do without government to protect us?
Tyranny.
Which amendment is that again? The one that says:
Anyone involved in this program needs to be dragged out behind the woodshed and beaten to within an inch of their lives. I volunteer.
We don’t need more evidence that the gov’t is out of control. It is all around us. This is a farmer.
An example this egregious should give a rational person cause to believe that the entire machine needs to be dismantled, piece by piece, and the mission of the USDA completely overhauled.
There is no reason or justification for this madness. The USDA has their foot on the necks of farmers. Everyone associated with this running disaster should be forced to work on a grape farm for the rest of their lives as just compensation for the farmers who bleed on the soil daily to bring a crop to market.
Or disbanded completely. This is supposed to be a capitalist country. There should be no programs to prop up or hold down the price of any crop.
