Meet Roman Genn
Fans of National Review admire his wickedly clever caricatures, and will love this first cut of a recent interview with artist Roman Genn.

In case anyone doesn’t know, this guy started off by creating subversive art in soviet (or recently soviet) Russia and officials didn’t take kindly to it.
Yep, arrested 11 times before he turned 19. Roman is, to say the least, a very complicated character. He is incredibly sunny and optimistic, for one thing.
I’m a big fan of Mr. Genn’s. More please.
Are you sure then that he is Russian? The Russian twins I know from the office (about the same age as Roman) have a bit of a dark streak when assessing how events in any circumstances will turn. I do however enjoy their takes on life.
Reasonably so. Perhaps whatever influence or gene turned him into a dissident protester back in Moscow also gave him his optimistic outlook on life. Why fight for freedom if you believe there’s no sun on the other side of the hill?
Yeah, I’m not sure about the “Russian” part either. I saw him at a party with a glass of something brown, and I wanted to slap it out of his hand and call him a traitor to the Motherland.
Simply one of the finest caricature artists at work today. No: one of the finest artists. Who happens to work in caricatures.
Really? I heard that when he feels slighted he will resort to vandalism.
Wow. He should be a contemporary Russian history professor at a major American university – and teach art on the side . . .
Hey, Rob, did you understand anything he said? What you don’t see is his great sense of humor. He had us rolling during a Night Owl session on the 2012 Post Election Cruise.

I’m a big fan of Mr. Genn’s. More please.
-yes, there will be more- and I hope to include the outtakes, too!
