Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.

To close out the year the 3WHH barflies recorded a special Boxing Day edition, in which, following the obligatory McDonald's news for John and a breaking story that indicates President Trump really does mean it about defending Western Christendom, we review our predictions for 2025 from a year ago (which, unlike the old McLaughlin Group predictions, turned out to be fairly good in most cases); then discuss what each of think is the most significant story of 2025, and offer predictions for 2026.
We couldn't make the Substack livestream work, but we're going to sort that out in the next week before our first show of the new season next weekend, which will be 2026!

Re-LeoXIV....no matter how you cut it, Leo is Francis-Lite. This nearly 80 year old cradle Catholic has absolutely NO problem criticizing this or any Pope when conscience and informed opinion dictates--- and neither should a convert!
The jury may be out on Leo as Prof. Hayward avers but his appointment of a Cardinal Cupich (Chicago) protege' to the NY Diocese is troubling. Cupich is really not much of an improvement over the execrable, radical leftist activist Fr. Pfleger, another Cupich ally.....and then Leo appointed a new Bishop here in Monterey, CA and so far this fellow's claim to fame is that he was born in Texas BUT raised in Mexico and is very 'sensitive to 'migrants' (legal??Illegal?? who knows???) and one of his last acts as an Auxiliary Bishop in San Diego was to hold a Gay Pride celebration Mass...
I think Leo and these 2 Bishops need to reacquaint themselves with the Gospel where Jesus tells us to 'render to Caesar etc....Leo is more upset with Trump's orders to ICE for which he was elected and has barely (if ever?) uttered any condemnation of Boko Haram.
