Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.

It's over. The fat lady has sung. The Supreme Court ended its current term with a big bang, delivering a long-overdue smackdown of affirmative action that with any luck history will say was a turning point for restoring the proper understanding of equality in our Constitution, though the follow up to overcome ther massive resistance of universities and their epigones in HR and DEI departments everywhere will be crucial—and exhausting.
But wait! There's more! The Court also smacked down Biden's student loan power grab, and vindicated the principle of free speech the right of conscience in turning back the coercive identitarian demand that a Christian website designer must be compelled to produce offensive products.
The 3WHH hosts were actually together in person this week for this episode, and marked the end of the Supreme Court term with a several nice rounds of Makers Mark. Next week we'll be back to our more "diverse" (heh) scope of wine, whisky, and wonkery, and we'll also get back to our slow-rolling "best books" deliberation.

What a great, upbeat podcast to end on, as I will soon no longer be able to comment here. But I’ll be listening elsewhere and cheering you on. Thanks for your dedication to post great content even when most other podcasts take their leave. Also, many thanks for your willingness to interact with your listeners, Steve and Lucretia. In my experience, yours is the best listener involvement on Ricochet (except for that by the affable, unflappable James Lileks). And, although I do not like/drink whiskey, I’m utterly charmed by the always-drink-it-neat instruction to live a principled life undiluted by the eroding properties of time. Thanks so much, guys, and Godspeed.

Re. Student Loans: Did anyone ever ask if they thought it would be possible for a POTUS to, with a simple Executive order, create a facility that could loan out half a Trillion$$ ?
I would bet that @ 95% of the voting public---or 8th graders who had been minimally exposed to American government--- would realize how impossible and ridiculous it would be ---SO using the same approach, to simply cancel that debt is laughable.

Great thought at the end, that applying their affirmative action hire idea ultimately hurts the Left. As it should. Puts to practice the line, we're as strong as our most diverse hire. Think about Biden choosing another Kagan instead of Ka-TAAAAAAAAAAN-gee.
