Steve'e new podcast sound board.

Be afraid, be very afraid, as this livestreamed edition of the 3WHH featured special effects for the first time. Steve has a new toy—a soundboard that comes with the classic sound effects. These turn out to be quite useful when pondering where the Iran War stands, why the deal to end the DHS shutdown was so confusing and ulimately collapsed, what the "pursuit of happiness" means in the Declaration of Independence (one clue: happiness is contending with John's never-ending intransigence about all things metaphysical), why the closing of the 'Liberal Patriot' Substack is an ominous sign for the old-fashioned reform liberal tradition.

Also, we give away the secret of the Straussian cheeseburger, which, to pararphrase Professor Strauss, makes the Big Arch look like an idiot childburger.

TSA: It is disturbing how government is able to reallocate funds and then muck things up with their budgets. ESPECIALLY the reallocation of funds that we pay per flight ticket for TSA. IT'S ALREADY FUNDED!!! But since they passed a law to reallocate the revenue we pay per ticket to the general fund it's now on hold.
This is an opportunity to unwind corruption. It would be good if someone would push a bill through that would take the TSA funding OUT of the general fund and back to a standalone operation. Would probably decrease corruption to a degree and take away TSA as an attack vector for the moment.
Then we can talk about removing TSA all together. What an utterly useless "service".

John: The neo part of neocon is oozing out with his lack of virtue. It's those neocon liberals who don't want you to think about virtue. They would like to outsource that to the government so it can be used to manipulate people. Very disappointing perspective.
A good example as to why being able to provide for yourself is virtuous could be explored by contrasting it with universal basic income. UBI is not virtuous and will backfire almost wholly because resources given and not earned through the ability to provide will cause more of the social problems it hopes to fix. Why? It's not virtuous.

    Wine Trivia

Prof Linda has great taste in vino. Brunello di Montalcino is 100% Sangiovese grape. Montalcino is just one small town away from Montepulciano, home of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano (also 100% Sangiovese) which, it should be noted in this 250th anniversary year, was Thomas Jefferson's favorite wine---he imported it by the barrel and vat!

I want to go on the record as being 100% in favor of the sound board. It's catastrophically dumb in all the right ways.

The TSA continues to be an insult to a free people.

Also, MORE CLEAN AIR ACT CONTENT!!

Yes, we are definitely neglecting our CAA duties. Which John deserves for his obstreperousness.
