This week we went round-robin format—or the podcast equivalent of potluck—with each bartender bringing a subject on their mind. John wonders whether the Clinton deposition about Epstein is really sensible, Steve wonders how Gaffen-Gavin Newsom can possible survive this week's "George Romney Moment" (you need to be a certain age, or have read some political history from the 1960s, to get this reference), and Lucretia wonders why universities have allowed themselves to be swallowed whole by useless administrators.
Along the way we do lighting round hot takes on Trump's stupendous State of the Union speech, whether we're going to go to war with Iran perhaps before these pixels are dry on the screen, and, in response to a listener question, clarifying our discussion last week about the Supreme Court's tariff decision, along with some great pop culture trivia that we hadn't planned.
Plus—this episode opens with a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT about the future of this podcast! And some upcoming events.

Steve, John, Lucretia: This weeks Feb 28 episode is just the BEST. I do have to ask John, what is the point of taking a class with a particular Professor, if the only student contact is a grad student? All other points of view i thought you presented them masterfully. Steve I have purchased a couple of your books, and find myself consistently entertained with your industry and your intellect. However I entirely agree that students should navigate all other life issues AWAY from school. Lucretia as always I agree with everything you said. Thank You all very much!

I know a third party inserts the ads, but I found it amusing that a couple of the ads were for the Senate Democratic primary campaign of Jasmine Crockett, focused on her anti-ICE obsession. :-) (I live in north Texas.)
How many voters in Democratic Texas primaries are likely to be listening to Three Whiskey Happy Hour?
And how many of those who do would be open to voting for someone as crazy as Jasmine Crockett?

Sssh, don't tell her. Let her keep spending her money here!

Well, write down the date -- I have a rare disagreement with Steve. Yes, of course, Newsom's blunder *should* be his downfall, but the NYT, WaPo, MSDNC, etc. didn't play it up, will never mention it again, and therefore it didn't happen. I was not surprised at all that it didn't create a big stir. After all, the D after Newsom's name has another meaning, other than "Dumb."

Crockett's ad-placement staff must be as dumb and incompetent as she is.
