Are the anticipated coming Trump indictments serious? Defrauding the federal government? Obstructing Congress? Violating the Ku Klux Klan Act? This is indeed John McEnroe territory—"You cannot be serious!" But is it going to work?

Let's just say this episode revisits the events of January 6 with considerable disagreement among the panel about how it should be understood, what we still don't know, and how it is afftecting the next election cycle, concerning which, Luretia road-tests her latest outlandish theory. ("We're going to get comments on this one!", she promises.)

Then we assay the state of the widening Biden scandals, with Lucretia scorning Steve's "eternal infernal optimism" that sooner or later the media is going to jump on this scandal. Lucretia and John are skeptical. . .

Finally, are the dividends of the Harvard affirmation action admissions ruling already growing and spreading to the private sector? Have you noticed the news of the growing number of layoffs and shrinkages of corporate DEI offices? Who says there isn't any good news these days.

Great cast! Welcome back @JohnYoo, I look forward to the day I get to try the McD's in Korea!

I think when discussing 1/6 maybe @Lucretia meant that no one should be charged because of all the actions by Capitol Police, FBI, etc. etc. that made that event possible. I mean, if we get evidence released that shows that FBI/whatever knew that there was a big crowd planned, they would likely make their way to the Capitol - and instead of erecting a perimeter around the Capitol that would have made entry impossible they decided to do next to nothing... well that's kinda like entrapment.

Add to it some purposeful (classic FBI) riling up of folks, encouraging folks, helping folks plan, inviting folks in, having plants in these groups of folks, having folks in the crowd dressed as supporters, and folks inside the building dressed as supporters to lead the folks around once they were purposefully let in.... well, that is again rather entrapment-y.

In fact, one could argue that whomever in those agencies that allowed this to happen should be charged and punished for their actions - even for their *inactions* that allowed much of that day to happen.

We all know that there should have been 20,000 extra troops and an actual barrier to approaching the Capitol.

I am highly suspicious this all just "happened"

Oh - and the joint session of Congress was halted and evacuated because of the pipe bombs, not the crowds, that came later... interesting..

Oh this world we live in. Haha. Only way to find out might be for Trump to win next year and get the info from the agencies but maybe Lucretia is right about how they stop him. Or maybe just delete it all.

It's hard to take Lucretia seriously. And I sure wish she wouldn't dominate all of the conversation.
