Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.

The setting for Biden's speech was so bad that it rivals Michael Dukakis's tank ride for disastrous visuals, but that's noting compared to the egregious content, which makes Jimmy Carter's dreadful "malaise" speech seem like Demosthenes by comparison. Speaking of the demos, Biden's speech can be seen an as especially inartful presumption of anti-republican principles that have been at the center of the Democratic Party since the 1850s if not earlier.
In this episode we draw the connections between Stephen Douglas's attacks on "black Republicans" then to "MAGA Republicans now," how the Dems blamed all Republicans for John Brown's raid, just at Dems now try to hang January 6 around the Republican Party as a whole, how Douglas used to refer to his party as "The Democracy," just as Democrats today speak incessantly of “Our DemocracyTM," as though it is the sole property of Democrats.
But finally, we go through how the Dems favorite f-bomb—"fascism"—goes all the way back to FDR, who at least used to attack Republicans with some wit, a twinkle in his eye, and a grin on his face, unlike the angry and bitter Biden who more resembles Grandpa Simpson yelling at clouds. To quote what Biden said to Obama a decade ago, this is "a big eff-ing deal."
From there we ponder whether a new civil war might be upon us, with considerable disagreement about the whole scene.
But finally, this extra-long episode (sorry!) turns abruptly to pop culture, since Lucretia took in a Broadway show last weekend, and reports that it was mostly and happily woke-free, unlike a lot of other Broadway productions these days. She also managed to sneak in a visit to Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue (see nearby pic), and lastly, please note that Steve will appear live on C-SPAN2's "In Depth" on Sunday at noon eastern time, talking about all his books and taking viewer questions and brickbats. Bookmark the details here. Till next week, don't forget to send in your Kamala Harris Word Salad Dressing recipes.

No! The democrats won't demand proof vaccination in order to vote - that would be showing an ID to vote - The democrats absolutely will not ever willingly do that...
The Trudeau government did absolutely nothing attempting to resolve the Trucker protests before they went 'nuclear' on the protesters. The inquiry into the use of the 'Emergencies Act' has shown that it was completely unnecessary.

The Bidens called in their chips and were able to get Lilly Riefenstahl to stage manage the event in Philadelphia.
(They still got it!)
Would Jon be OK with AZ not supporting the Feds arresting people for not paying taxes?

Is that America's Digital Radio Goddess reading the new intro for the Three Whiskey Happy Hour? She's an Arizonan, so perhaps Lucretia landed her.
Speaking of Lucretia, naturally I have to suspect that when she threw her beer bottle at John Glenn on the projection TV screen, she threw her beer bottle like a girl. A real girl, not a trans girl. So there's that.
Do I detect that Lucretia shares my objection to Supreme Court judicial review, a process that is not mentioned in the Constitution, but was unilaterally adopted by Chief Justice Marshall in Marbury v. Madison? <restrain rant urge>
I wish Steve had quoted Charlie Rangel in Rangel's voice. Before I knew what a disaster Anthony Fauci was, I objected to him because his voice sounds far too close to Charlie Rangel's voice for comfort.
"Don't get a Ford or a Chevy" Lucretia directs Prof. Hayward, who just last week announced that he's pro-Chevrolet.
Democrats have thoroughly corrupted government, to the point where Republicans reasonably suspect the constitutional systems do not function. We're approaching a point where civil war will be reasonably regarded as the only available option. Lucretia is absolutely correct that the constitutional separation of powers is no longer a viable protection against tyranny. Just last week, the Third Triumvirate that is the 3WHH agreed that it is nearly impossible to prevent Biden's naked power grab of transferring $300,000,000,000+ of individually held student loan debt to the taxpayers. I don't want civil war, but I fear there'll soon be no alternative, perhaps there's none already.
John Yoo using Boyle's Law to describe Trump as a gas molecule - impressive. But when does optimism become Pollyannaism? We might have had greater divisions before, but the federal government was never before so thoroughly corrupted, integrated with the Democrat party and the press.
Some consider The Music Man the greatest American musical. It's a makeable case.
What a great podcast from the Renaissance Men (including woman) who are the Three Whiskey Happy Hour! An hour a week is not enough.
See you on the ramparts.

My wife said that Lucretia reminds her of Marjorie Rosenberg. That’s high praise.
The 2020 presidential election was not conducted according to the Constitution. That doesn’t appear to trouble John Yoo which surprises me. Governors and SOS changed election rules without the consent of the state legislatures. Why isn’t this a bigger deal. Does the Constitution mean anything if it can be violated in the presidential election and the courts do nothing about it.
