Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.

James is back from the British Isles and has had a little bit of it shipped home directly to The Diner.

ROK to US, US to ROK, wherever I might go. Am I the only one who never suffers from jet lag?

I traveled to India on business for 25 years. I suffered no jet lag when I came back from India (but not going to India).

The stories from small village towns in Britain are wonderful. We've done it a couple of times (not with a stay at an English friend's home though). They are quaint and the people wonderful. We stayed outside of Bath in Bathford (I believe) a couple of times. Very quaint, much less expensive, great transportation into town, and a small-town feel. The other place we've stayed a couple of times is Etal, outside of Berwick upon Tweed. Again lovely town, quaint local pubs, lower prices and dripping with history.
I do need to complain about the bagpipes. Often when I cannot sleep I put on my headband earphones and fire up a podcast. You do have a relaxing voice and a familiar rhythm to your "The Diner" podcast. Such programs help rest my brain and send me to the land of nod. Then I have to listen again in the morning. So I had happily dozed off very early this morning listening to the lovely English village stories when the bleeping Tattoo startled me out of my slumber. Really did you have to.

Maybe listen to Bob Ross's "Joy Of Painting" episode instead.
No bagpipes. Ever.

Yes. It was required. Lileks, Local Hero, haggis, and pipes. Best combination ever.
