Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.

An episode that was hermetically sealed and kept in a mayonnaise jar on the front porch of Funk & Wagnalls since noon today...

Skiddoo I think is an alternative to skedaddle, seems to be the most likely thing to me. But Ive never heard this word used this way before. To me, Skidoo is a powered recreational snow sled.
Dangler? If my name were Dangler, I'd want to change it as well. I can see how a number would be inconvenient for computer systems... (typo traps would probably kick numbers out of a "name" field)

The Baby Boom was longer than you think, James, and you were born only two-thirds of the way through. It went all the way to 1964. That means it went from the year that gave us Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Donald J. Trump to the year that gave us Sarah Palin, Tim Walz, and Kamala Harris. What a time to be born.

That was my thought.

It was amazing that Doc Severinsen performed a concert in the Fargo-Moorhead metropolis. I remember our band instructor in rural central MN procured a bus to take a bunch of us to go see him perform with the Air Force Band at one of the colleges there. For some strange reason I also remember the bus stopping by a McDonald's on the way back where I bought and ate 4 Big Macs.
Doc is still up and kicking celebrating his 98th birthday this month. One of the regular skits on the Tonight Show was "Stump the Band" which was so fun!
Nothing nostalgizes my soul like a mention of The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. One of my fondest memory was the PTA annual fund-raising carnival where the floor show emulated The Tonight Show. Mark T. and I performed an extremely kitchy Polish Magic Show. Unfortunately even then the nascent PC Police would not let us use "Polish" so as not to offend those whose ancestors came from Poland. So I renamed it the "Lower Slobbovian Magic Act." Injecting a lot of slapstick our act was the highlight of the show. I recently resurrected a solo version of the act which entertains my grandchildren to no end.

Saw somebody point out on Twitter recently that the Jack Nicholson line from The Shining - "Here's Johnny!" must be completely mystifying to people born in the last 30 years or so.
