Excellent post. I had one of those pens in the pocket of my white shirt when I was in junior high. I think my mom just threw the shirt out.
I have been enjoying this series for some time but can’t find in the show notes anything about the big band excerpt used in most episodes. It sounds like Basie but more recent. Can anyone tell me the source?

Because of copyright issues we use a production music service. The piece is, indeed, a bit of Count pastiche titled Big Band Basie by Markus Little.

Thanks! When it went in the direction it ended up going I saw myself going deep into the past and the restaurant myself, and figured I could wrap it up just by backing out, like a movie shot.
And hats off to EJ, who really pulled together some true Peter's items quite nicely.
