Weighing the Charges

Another week, another indictment. Another president, another scandal. So we call on the house prosecutor, Andy McCarthy, to weigh the evidence before us and join Messrs. Lileks, Long and Cooke as they debate the merits of the cases against both Trump and Biden and see where we think we stand.

But more importantly, James has thoughts on the cultural event of the decade. Yes, he has seen Barbie.

You're all entitled to one phone call. Use it wisely.

Importing *any* deflation from the Chinese Mafia is massively stupid. Changing this is going to be a [REDACTED]. It will be inflationary, and we already pay $2 billion of interest per day on government debt.

I'm thinking, if there were family ties from those Navy guys to China, it would have been better to just keep them out of the Navy. Keeping an eye on them might easily cost more than the value of their service.

If Charles were to become a regular (co-)host on this podcast, I'd probably stop listening each week. Hopefully Peter stops swanning about soon, and gets back to "work."

Here is another good opportunity bring up the arguments mentioned here:

The example that brought this up to me again, was this part:

What if Pence had sent the electoral votes back to the states as Trump requested? Could he have been prosecuted for that? If not, then how can Trump be prosecuted for urging him to do it?

It's baffling and quite disappointing that Charles and others seem to think this is some kind of obviously criminal conduct.

There is a legal provision for challenging electors in the Electoral Count Act of 1887. The Vice-President has no authority to do anything.

I think James was about 300 podcasts off in his intro. :-)
