This week, we peruse Hillary's email, National Review's Charles C.W. Cooke on his new book The Conservatarian Manifesto (are you a Conservatarian? Take the quiz here), Law Talk's John Yoo on Cotton's letter, and the controversy behind Claire Berlinkski's new profile pic.

Music from this week’s episode:

The Letter by The Boxtops

The opening sequence for the Ricochet Podcast was composed and produced by James Lileks.

That does not compute, EJHill.

Years ago, when the news networks showed electoral maps, Republican states were blue and Democrat states were red. At some point they switched it. It would be interesting to find who made the decision and why.

The consensus is that we can give Tim Russert the credit for the switch in 2000, when Bush was facing Gore. It seems to have stuck since then. And it's not only the maps but our political vernacular that's been transformed. We now talk about red and blue states and voters. Here in California I was part of a push to reclaim Reagan Blue as the official color of the GOP. We were successful in getting the resolution adopted by the CA GOP. I'd like to see other states take up the cause and hopefully pressure the RNC into bringing us closer to our compatriots who believe in and fight for free enterprise around the world.

Bereket, do you know -- did all the networks change at the same time? This would imply some kind of meeting in a smoke filled room.
