Numbers guru Harry Enten joins Steve, Charlie and James to put a little pizzazz on polling data. The gang covers a great deal of ground: the DSA insurgency, key midterm races, economic and institutional pessimism, public suspicion about polling, and some of the forces behind American polarization. But it ain't all bad! Stay tuned til the end to find out about Harry's famous Uncle Neil and a story of inspiration from unlikely places.
Plus, our trio debates the merits of Trump's election integrity speech, turns over a few cultural touchstones, and makes an announcement about Ricochet 5.0.
Sound from this week's open: President Trump implies foul play at hand in California's recent elections in his prime-time address, and Chuck Schumer commends the legacy of Lindsey Graham on the Senate Floor.

Good podcast, as usual. I hope Ricochet gets the band back together for #800 - James, Rob, and Peter . . . call me sentimental (or just mental) . . .

There's an idea!
I think Rob's in Tbilisi — ya know, as one does in the summer. The time zone difference could make it tough, but I'll see if he can drop in with his evening cigar.

With a show number like 800 looming, this is where sitcoms would do the obligatory clip show. Now we just have to find a way to get Rob, Peter and James to get into the same walk-in freezer…

Excellent podcast. I do like it when there are some different points of view such as Steve and Charles regarding Trump's speech. In agreement with both of their points. We do forget the huge Chinese influence on the 2020 election with the Chinese virus. Charles is correct that the Democrats just played the Covid crisis better. There was definitely shennanigans in Minnesota that our dems played perfectly.
James, Annie R. missed you at the 50th Fargo North class reunion. I pray that your time in Blighty is mellow as last week you stated your desire for mellow (at least in music, Mantovanni-like...definitely mellow)

I wouldn't do that. There could be a velociraptor in it . . .
