With Israel's stunning string of victories over its enemies and the approaching anniversary of October 7th, Eli Lake returns to the Ricochet Podcast. He gives his take on the reasons for the administration's dithering support and rallies for the West to give its ally the greenlight!

Plus, Charlie, Peter and James discuss the Veep debate, the averted longshoremen's strike and an ineffective Federal Emergency Management Agency... We count three rants out of Charlie Cooke.

- Sound clips from this week's podcast: Churchill's "We shall fight on the beaches" speech and Tim Walz's "Knucklehead" remark

This Delaware-for-Israel stuff reminds me of Dennis Miller, "The Muslims won't be interested in space exploration until the Jews set up Israel on the Moon."

Great conversation. And James is so right that the post about Phil Silvers and Sgt. Bilko was so Ricochet. It reminds one about why the free market is better than a planned economy. Who knew we needed cell phones or fax machines (for awhile) or myriads of other things. Certainly the Communist Central Planning Committee never would in a million years. (Monkeys more likely to write Shakespeare than that I say.) Ricochettis and their interests and musings are truly letting a thousand flowers bloom. (I've got Communism on the brain for obvious reasons.) By the way how about an interview with the author of the Rise and Fall and Rise of Communism Peter? Or even inviting him on the podcast. Oh, oh. (Hand waving frantically in the air at Professor Robinson.) How about an Uncommon Knowledge with that author, Stephen Kotkin, Andrew Roberts, or some combination??

Having Sean McMeeken or Stephen Kotkin would be amazing. Reading all of their works. Have really enjoyed Sean McMeeken…especially his Stalin’s War which imho is a strong corrective to the Hitler obsession we have here in the states…this is not denying anything about Hitler but he was not the only game in town.

Also…how about having Dr Sowell back on….we need all of his wisdom before it’s too late!!

Automation replacing labor is deflationary. The Federal Reserve produces constant inflation. Then the one percent gets wealthier while we have social problems and people complain about socialism and populism.

    Carry on.

What is Eli Lake going on about when he says that Trump says antisemitic things? his daughter married a Jew and he has been closer to Israel than George W. Bush.
