We have a special Christmas season episode to tide everyone over through the holidays. Steve Hayward sits down with Rob Long, who's just wrapped his first year at Princeton's Theological Seminary. They discuss dramatic career changes, the storyteller's take on the link between show business and the saving souls business, and the modern cultural discomfort with the faith of our fathers.

Nice show. Did they assign Rob to the church on campus for preaching because they needed to keep an eye on the old guy?

Hate to say it, but Rob makes a disturbing amount of sense.

I enjoyed the program--some religion, a little show business, and a few laughs. The only thing missing was discussion of the Clean Air Act.

I've been a part of Ricochet I think...... since 2014 (sheesh - where does the time go?!) and I know Rob is one of the founders, that he was a comic writer, famous for Cheers and other great shows. Other than an occasional podcast here, I saw him on Gutfeld a few times, but had no clue he was at this seminary or even leaning to that vocation - big surprise and Go Rob!

    A couple comments:

    1. I hope he didn't really (cough!) use AI (two coughs) to submit a paper...........gulp......and is that allowed (it can't be!)?? I chose not to go back and listen to that comment again and hope it was a Rob joke......
    2. I was hoping to hear a more in-depth view on how Hollywood has changed - I thought it was vague, but if the analogy of "what if the US culture (and the West) were totally secular with no religious anchors or references), what would that generation look like, and if that's a description of todays Hollywood, LA and the entertainment industry, that might be accurate........because it's gotten downright ugly..........visually, spiritually, mentally - the whole gambit.
    3. I hope Princeton Seminary is better than Harvard's Divinity School - I'm sorry to say that place may resemble more Hollywood.....than a true and honest study of theology, at least in the way their founders intended.
    4. Rob and Peter Robinson should do a podcast together on theology and the state of the world going forward. I think we're at a point in history where it's going to be a rough ride.........So Cheers Rob (pun intended!) and good luck!

Are there really more people demanding MORE CLEAN AIR ACT CONTENT?! I thought it was a groundswell of just me, mostly to annoy John Yoo.
