John Yoo returns to the Ricochet Podcast, joining James and Rob for a discussion on prosecutorial overreach. The gang cover the unprecedented lawfare being waged against a former president, and consider the executive statesmanship that's kept the lawyers in check over our history. Plus there's some discussion of Biden's move to withhold congressionally approved arms to an ally at war; and, naturally, John has a few things to say about porkchops, bacon and Texan barbeque.
- This week’s sound: Donald Trump comments from outside the NYC courtroom and Joe Biden reads the stage directions from the teleprompter.

Last week Steve Hayward was a guest host. This week John Yoo. Next week Lucretia?

I think that's the wrong picture of John. Doesn't he look more like this?

That's not John, silly! He's at least 6 inches taller and wears a larger furry costume.

John Yoo keeps worrying about the potential damage to our judicial institutions caused by Leftist prosecutors indicting Trump. This might induce citizens to lose respect for those institutions, rendering them defunct.
He shouldn't worry so much. It has been clear for all of my lifetime (now three quarters of a century) that our judicial institutions are completely corrupt and incompetent, indeed, absolutely perverse. From the Aaron Burr trial, to Dred Scot, to Plessy v Ferguson, to OWH, Jr's dissent in Lochner (with which Justice Alito apparently, and insanely, agrees), to Wicker v Filburn, Buck v. Bell, the Warren Court, Roe v Wade. Scalia's Chevron opinion, to Robert's quantum reasoning on Obamacare (a tax is a penalty is a tax is a penalty, removing any limiting principle on taxation whatsoever), America has suffered bitterly under the depredations and perversities of our judicial institutions.
And our judicial institutions have not become defunct. TO the contrary, they have thrived, as they are thriving now, imposing bizarre notions on the nation and abusing us all endlessly, subjecting us to endless lawfare and subjugating us to an utterly corrupt, venal, perverse, abusive, mendacious, and idiotic federal government, grown beyond any concept of a self governance system, into an evil leviathan, decimating the populace with malice aforethought. All of this will of course continue unabated, until we all will be envying the life of luxury and ease enjoyed by Ivan Denisovich.
The amazing thing is that John, as a lawyer, seems to have no shame. And as a law professor, when he should be apologizing to us all for his depraved activities, and his willing participation in a perverse system, he regales us with his "concerns." How can someone so intelligent be so blinkered, blinded, and befuddled? Or is he just that extremely perverse?

Lucretia v Rob would be worth paying extra to listen to.
