Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.

Henry Kissinger is gone after a century on Planet Earth. The most influential diplomat of the last fifty years, he's never been short of fierce criticisms from both the left and right. The great war historian Victor Davis Hanson returns to the Ricochet Podcast to give a careful review of the controversial emissary.
Plus Lileks, Robinson and Long are reunited after a couple weeks to evaluate Thursday's much touted DeSantis/Newsom face-off, and they give their early impressions of Argentina's triumphant Milei and the seemingly vindicated Geert Wilders.

Rob mentioned that Kissinger's obituary had been written for a long while. I saw a tweet that one of the people who contributed to one of the obituaries had died in 2010, so Kissinger outlived one of his obituary writers.

The King of Obituaries is the late Bob Thomas, who was the main AP Entertainment Editor for decades. He died in 2014 and is still getting bylines. When Bob Newhart dies the obituary that you read will, by and large, be his work.

One of the replies to the tweet I saw said that AP had a writer still getting obituary bylines after his death but didn't mention his name.

Isn't it even better to outlive the doctors who told you that you need to change your ways?

Why wouldn't you adopt every single thing that Ludwig von Mises said?
If he wipes out the central bank, the financial system and the government have to start dealing with deflation. Big deal.
Normal economics constantly creates deflation. Then we have central banks create inflation, so we can have wars.
Inflation is stupid and we are going to give it up the hard way.
