In writing his memoir, Glenn Loury recognized the game that would go on between author and reader. To get his audience to trust him as a person, he'd confess his past misdeed and defects in character; to gain your confidence in his integrity as a thinker, he'd have to acknowledge the many times he's changed his mind on the stances he's taken. Today he joins to James, Rob and Steve Hayward to explain himself.
The hosts also consider the broken pier in Gaza, compare this administration's incompetence with past calamities, plus last weekend's IDF strike in Rafah and the tent camp fire.
- This week’s audio: Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh on whether or not the Gaza pier was a failure.
Hosted by James Lileks,
Rob Long, and
Steve Hayward, with guest
Glenn Loury

Why is the podcast a full day early and why don't we, as Ricochet members, get the option to zoom into the live broadcast anymore? Were there too many comments or questions from members on the zoom that bothered the live participants of the podcast? I ask because I enjoyed catching it much like I used to enjoy the old unencrypted feeds on satellite over 30 years ago. You got a little of the interaction between the principles that was unedited.

The pod was recorded today to accommodate our guest’s schedule.
As for the Zoom, it was a question of simple economics. What they charge for their “webinar” services was not in line with the number of people who could watch the recording.

As soon as I heard it was recorded before the verdict I switched it off. Don't want to listen to opinions about what will happen after it already happened.

Could or did? I get it if it was financially unviable because there weren't enough folks doing it. Could it be an extra offering allowing folks to make that financial decision?

We didn't discuss the Trump trial. I think we acknowledged it as a Thing That was Ongoing, but maybe . . . .057% of the podcast concerned the trial.
