Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.

- Sound from this week's open: Sydney Sweeny promoting American Apparel jeans and Donald Trump explains how to escape from alligators.

The allusion to Jimmy Saville brings up a recollection of one of the most vile people to exist. He was one of the most prolific child sex predators. He was also, and it pains me to say so, a regular communicant in daily Catholic masses. He embodied the word hypocrite. It's a pity that he died before the discovery of his crimes. May he rot in hell.
