Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.

Just like it was great to have the first African-American president and just how great it will be to have the first woman president. It is precisely this kind of superficial, touchy-feely thinking that got us into this mess in the first place. We should be choosing presidents like we would choose a doctor to perform a very dangerous and complicated surgery. I don't care who the doctor's parents are, whether he came from humble beginnings or was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, whether he is "kind" and "compassionate" or has the bedside manner of Dracula. The only question that ultimately matters is this: Is he any damn good at his job? PERIOD!

"I'm the the son of a farmer and a former Air Force pilot." I don't know about you, but it took me all of 2 seconds to say that. Now that we got that out of the way, what are you actually going to do, Rick Perry, to save this country?
