Ricochet presents a special Yuletide episode featuring Joseph Bottum, author of Frankincense, Gold, and Myrrh: A Christmas Chrestomathy. In under an hour, he and Peter cover crammed cities and the rural expanse, crime and charity, the written word and the reader's mind—all with thoughts on the Christmas spirit in a contemporary setting.

Thank you for recording and posting this conversation. It’s exactly what I needed in some bad traffic this morning. Two writers’ “aw, shucks” demeanors make for good dialogue. Merry Christmas!

Brady, you're more than welcome. Jody and I could have gone on for hours--for that matter, before long I'd have tried to talk him into simply reading the book aloud! Merry Christmas.

That makes me wonder if Mr. Bottum read the audio version of his new book. I hear that can be rewarding for the readers/listeners and a bit excruciating for the authors. From the short Ricochet interview sample, I think listeners would enjoy the author's voice quite a lot. Cheers!
