A Clickbait Christmas

Subscribe to The Ricochet PodcastSubscribe

For the last podcast of the year, Steve, Charles and Rob pull out all the stops to grab the attention of podcast listeners worldwide: some theology here, a little healthcare debate there, and a few notes on Congress' gargantuan Christmas list. Plus, there's the WSJ write-up on the efforts to conceal Joe Biden's decline, Kirsten Gillibrand's ERA absurdity, and some insights from Rob on how show-biz will be forced to come to its senses.

Sound clip from today's open: Nancy Mace sifts through the CR bill.

The political discussion was, as always, thought-provoking and insightful, but I have to say I particularly enjoyed the theological discussion at the beginning of the show. I would love to hear more about Rob's studies, and Charlie's frank discussion of his own views of religion/faith were fascinating.

The good news for Charlie is that his level of personal faith still qualifies him to be the Archbishop of Canterbury.

I was delighted to hear Rob Long point out that the idea we spend too much on healthcare is nuts. I was in a Master's of Public Health program at UC Berkeley (in the mid 80's) and listened to the then Dean of the School, Warren Winklestein, say "Where is it written that 15% is too much to spend on healthcare?" We are a wealthy people; if our basic needs leave us with "left-over money," why should we not spend it on our health?
