Among other things, Jonah really wants you to know he's not Jeff. After clearing that up, he and the rest of the GLoP crew delve into writing with AI, pitch a King Game of Thrones spinoff but in the Burger King extended universe, another look at The Taking of Pelham 123, inflection points and Suits, Wings, and various other pop culture cul-de-sacs.

Yeah. Jonah's not Jeff. I'm sure he isn't. Or doesn't, as the case may be.
When it comes to the rest of you, would you please sort out the daft egg in the latest "National Review Editors Podcast" who--I can't tell the dance from the dance--it was he who repeatedly described--absent correction from a single of his fellows--one of the faulty players in the recently sad story as "Tim Walz."
While I have laughed, myself, uproariously over the past few months that some of my daft friends on the other side of the aisle have confused brother Tim Walz with his Trump administration counterpart (Michael), I didn't really think those on my side were really so idiotic.
Perhaps I was wrong.
That is all.

I have noticed that Tim Walz has so thoroughly trained nearly everyone to pronounce his last name that even when talking about Michael Waltz, they pronounce it sans T.

The old joke I know regards the Titanic, but may not be allowed on Ricochet.

In this podcast you briefly discussed that the Democrats might be going through their own Tea Party* moment. If that happens I can envision a pop culture parallel that plays-out in an ugly and regrettable fashion. I picture today's sane but silent/timid Republican congress riffing on these bits of dialogue from Hunt for Red October some time in the future when the GoP is in shambles:
Next scene
Then a few scenes later
*before the Tea Party movement morphed the GoP into the populist sewer that I see it as today, it was a pretty principled on air rally cry by CNBC's Rick Santelli who was chaising government meddling in the markets.

Boy are these guys out of touch with right-leaning people outside Manhattan and DC.
I am listening for the first time in several months, and remember why I stopped listening. Condescending. Arrogant. Unable or unwilling to comprehend that us robes in the hinterlands can hold complex thoughts and still support what President Trump is doing.
