I enjoyed the philosophical parts. (And all the rest, too.)

Coffee's from East Africa*. NRO went to crap when they started defenestrating significant contributors. For ~10 years from its inception I was on the Corner 8 times a day. Haven't been there 8 times in 2018.

*It is common for ag products to be in greatest production on the opposite side of the world from where it exists as a native plant. There are fewer/no diseases/pests to infest densely planted plantations of the few economically viable varieties from the wild population of the plant.

Defenestrating contributors? Can you explain? I don't know what you mean, sorry.

Derb then Steyn. John Derbyshire, I could see because he has an Englishmen's sensitivity towards race in America, which is to say, none at all and in response to "The Talk" hysteria (black parent explains to his child the profound danger of living in America), he penned a version for his Sino-Anglo-American children about the danger from black Americans to them.

But, Mark Steyn was thrown out of NRO (yes, pedantic NR partisans, he was never an employee, but he was dropped as a contributor) for repeating an old gay joke ("how do you make a fruit cordial...." in a column about gay chauvinism/supremacy (I think that was the topic)...yes, here it is (thanks, Google): https://www.nationalreview.com/2013/12/age-intolerance-mark-steyn/

Were you ever part of GIGO ("Garbage In, Garbage Out", the NRO pre-cursor to the Corner)?
