Jonah's got a new pair of specs, the WaPo has a new editorial policy, White Lotus, Severance, Rob studies and watches Tik-Tok, Reacher, and lots of Yiddish. Yep, it's a new GLoP.

I love the needless anthropomorphization of things. What's good enough for Aesop is good enough for me.

Hey @RobLong, sincere question: What's the case against Dan Bongino as DDFBI? You sneered at the appointment as if it's self-evidently a bad pick.

    And a couple of comments:

    • Lost ended up being the mess that it was because fans online figured out where the writers were going with the story (because of a book visible in the background of a scene) and the writers decided they had to abandon that and figure out something else. We all saw the result.
    • Severance was more of a comedy in the first season, probably because Ben Stiller himself thought it was just a workplace comedy, and was surprised at how the story unfolded. But to me, at least, it was clearly also a science fiction show from the start. So it's odd that JPod thinks there's been a switcheroo. I would agree that season two is less funny, though.

I remember when Rob told that story about seeing Bladerunner in a theater but it was about HIM doing that to the group he was seeing the "Westworld" series with.

If only I could find that GLoP episode again.

Blade Runner is the correct spelling, if you’re talking about the movie, and not Alan E. Nourse’s novel about a medical dystopia, The Bladerunner.
