It doesn't happen very often on this podcast, but once in a while, the news cycle overtakes the show and it dates a bit between when we recorded it and when it gets released (in this case, about two hours). Yep, the boys do a riff on Roseanne in this show and now, Ms. Barr's comeback has been consigned to the shelves of the TV Museum. Ah, well. Stuff Happens. Also, a bit on the book business, some thoughts on book reviews in the internet age, Phillip Roth, Tom Wolfe, and yes, even a bit of Solo. Also, the Weekly Substandard is stealing comedy bits from GLoP. This. Will. Not. Stand!

Should be stealing. Fixed, and thanks.

What? Roseanne redux is gone? But weren't those the best possible ratings in this current world? How will Rob explain it? Tune in in 2 weeks, same GLoP time, same GLoP channel!

I think this is further proof of media bias. If you could spin straw into gold, it would not matter, if you offend the political sensibilities of the management.

-- Not to defend her comment, it was far over the line and she should apologize for it. (which she has) but cancelling the show kills the jobs of many people not named Rosanne Barr.

How about Roseanne (the t.v. Character) slips and falls in episode 1 of season 2 and the series has everybody else doing their thing? It is unfair to fire everybody for one person. Is that doable? I’m asking Rob Long.
