Yep, it's time for another romp through pop culture and (trigger warning) politics as the men of GLoP riff on college campus antics (one of the panelists is in college at the moment), possible election unrest, Game of Thrones v. Monty Python and The Holy Grail, the problem with liking Hitler's generals, the greatest Faye Dunaway story you have ever heard, ABC's Dr. Odyssey, who would win a Harris against Trump IQ test, and Rob makes a very mainstream recommendation.
Hosted by John Podhoretz,
Jonah Goldberg, and
Rob Long

Sure he is. I think we know what really happened.

On Rob's assertion that Harris has to be able to think on her feet because she was a trial lawyer, the extent of her experience is in question. And I always wondered about it myself. It takes longer to catch her on her lies, and I guess it took some shoe leather to actually check out her trial experience claims.
But here we are.
Harris has invested her intelligence in cleverness, and taking shortcuts for career success. And that includes her affair with Willie Brown. And we're seeing it play out.

Pausing at the halfway point …
It would be better for the country, and for the conservative movement, says Jonah Goldberg, if Kamala Harris were President for the next four years.
Evidently, in his mind, the Ukraine war was a coincidence, and the destruction of Afghanistan was a coincidence, and the explosion of the Middle East was a coincidence. The Biden-Harris administration bears no responsibility.
That Trump is the only 21st-century President during whose term Vladimir Putin didn’t invade any of his neighbors was merely a coincidence. Nor does Trump deserve credit for listening to the Afghanistan experts Biden-Harris later ignored, when they pulled all US troops out and collapsed the government. The Abraham Accords were achieved under Trump also by coincidence.
Jonah is not concerned by the likelihood that a Harris victory probably means the Democrats hold the Senate, putting them in a position to end the filibuster and pack the Supreme Court with radicals, which puts the entire Constitution up for grabs: Second Amendment applies only to the National Guard; First Amendment no longer protects whatever the government designates as “hate speech” or “misinformation”; right to vote extended to all US residents, legal and illegal; vote fraud prevention declared unconstitutional; racial quotas and abortion on demand for 9+ months read into the Constitution.
What happens to Israel while all this is going on, I shudder to think. To the increasingly dominant Harris-Walz wing of the Democratic Party, Iran is a legitimate government; Israel isn’t.

No matter what happens, it probably won't affect Jonah directly, and that might be all that he really cares about.

Under the regime of racial preferences, a mediocre performer designated as belonging to an “underrepresented minority” is hired and promoted as if she were a superstar. That such a person simply doesn’t have to try very hard to get ahead may have something to do with the laziness Harris has been frequently accused of, ever since she became Veep.
If she really did try 50 cases as she claimed, she would probably have been 50 times accompanied by an “overrepresented minority”, as it were.
