Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.

Why is this GLoP different from all other GLoPs? Because on this GLoP, the principals discuss the future of the show and how to evolve it given their divergent interests. But don't worry: there's also plenty of laughs involving Gavin MacLeod, his TV wife Joyce Bulifant (look her up), an actual joke about the holocaust, and another one about the N-word. And even some actual pop culture with some thoughts about Andor, Sinners, and BritBoxTV.

I know who Red Skelton is and wish you guys would go to one episode a week rather than a month.
I always learn something.

Started off with some salacious stuff about thruples but then reverted to Konzept stuff like politics and entertainment, kinda like being in Auschwitz.

Notoriously, CBS canceled Skelton’s comedy show despite the fact he was #2 in the ratings.
I presume the reason was that his show’s viewers — trending rural and elderly? — were not that valuable to advertisers. (His conservative politics probably didn’t help.) At the time, I was neither rural nor elderly, but I remember thoroughly enjoying it.

I watched several episodes of Doctor Odyssey. Let’s just say, if “woke” is over, nobody told these people.
In one episode, the doctor fawns over and hero-worships a (grotty looking) trans character. But there is a certain ambiguity to the narrative: the surgeries get infected and the individual dies.
Rob Long misuses the term, “thruple”, which means three people involved romantically; while “threesome”, three people in the same bed, is what he really means.
Which got me to thinking, why is two men and a woman in bed inherently more gross than two women and a man? I think the answer is, women keep their naughty bits discreetly stowed, while men flop around, frightening the horses and children.
In any case, the show got a little too rancid for me.
Another reason I stopped watching might be termed “jumping the orca”. In a two-parter, we’re supposed to believe a power failure has shut down all communications with the outside, even as killer whales besiege the ship. Orcas really do attack sailboats and yachts, from time to time, but a cruise ship without a satphone? Sure, if it’s 1925 instead of 2025.

I think they used to, early on. Or maybe it was every other week.
