Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.

This week on the mighty GLoP podcast, the guys spend some time analyzing Megxit, the economics, the relationships, and the causes. Then, it's time we got serious (well, serious for this show) about the prospect of President Sanders. Sure, he could win -- stranger things have happened (cough). Also, we take another look at Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, and finish up with some birthday wishes for The Podfather himself, the great Norman Podhoretz, who turned 90 years young on January 16th. Happy birthday, sir!

It does sound like the premise for a sitcom for Rob Long... Prince gets a DNA test, gets kicked out of the family, and now he and his gold-digger bride are living in the wild of the BC Coast (for sake of the plot, delete the mansion donated by a friend of the family)... Trying to make ends meet, figuring out even the basics... Kinda like Schitt's Creek, but funny.
The IRA didn't really target the royals that much... They went after Thatcher quite a lot. But the IRA presumed that the Royal families where popular enough that if they victimized them - the British public would galvanize against them.
There where many bad jokes going around after the Mountbatten bombing... like... Did you know he had dandruff? yea, they found his Head & Shoulders on the Beach...
The other reason that a production company would discuss Nazi's but not the IRA - is that the IRA is kinda still around, a lot of those people are... Nazis are kinda fair game because they're mostly dead. Its kinda like the anti-religious bigots will talk all the trash in the world about Christ and Christians, but a mute on Mohammad. We all know why, one group sends a letter to the editor - the other sends a horde of nuts with knifes....People are normally naturally cowards, and wont speak up to make themselves into targets. This is how you know that anyone calling Trump "Hitler" or a Nazi is lying. IF they really believed it they wouldn't say a word, because they're fundamentally cowards.
Astute observation on Bernie's accent.

I think more people have an idea what a haranguing president Warren would be, than understand how awful Sanders would be in the same way. Maybe because, at this point, they don't really hear him all that much. As President, he would be largely inescapable. And he probably couldn't be thrown out as easily as the commune did.

Re: The Incredible Mr Limpett. JPod forgot about "Lady Fish?" I guess maybe they didn't have fishy sex during the course of the movie, but it's a good bet they did after.
