Welcome to another episode of GLoP, America’s only podcast where three grown men debate television, theology, demon scratch marks, and the cultural meaning of Mr. Ed — all while Rob Long eats shrimp noodles into a muted microphone. On this outing, demonology, alien hive minds, and whether Pluribus is actually a right-wing parable about American exceptionalism disguised as a friendly invasion of body-snatching Marxist Care Bears. Also, the deeply important question of why Hollywood produced a series of Talking Mule movies, and what that has to do with Clint Eastwood, and why turkey Peking Duck is the greatest Thanksgiving delicacy.

Instead of Dessert first... How about an Aperitif? Whet the appetite a little to dig into your episode...

The problem I have with the Dessert first format is that you end up with a complex timeline in your episode that can spoil elements of your plot. No?

An Aperitif? Pulp Fiction... Honey Bunny and Ringo plotting to rob the diner... Its the story line that wraps up the movie but also doesnt spoil any of the events in the movie...Maybe this could also be called a Cold Open, because when the movie resumes after the tittle screen and opening theme, its starts with Vince and Jules in the car having a random conversation. (also very compelling)

Rob Long’s vicious comments about RFK Jr. make me wonder if perhaps the priesthood is not the right choice for him.

N.B.: RFK Jr. is unquestionably a crank, but that by no means proves he is unintelligent. Indeed, much research shows that highly intelligent people are particularly good at rationalizing questionable ideas.

I read the book about Garfield, it is good, it would make a great movie/minis-series. Garfield by all accounts are an impressive man who could have been a good president. I wonder if the MDs who botched his recovery said "the science is settled"

I talked to Lucifer in Colorado. Surprisingly nice guy. I don't know if he is a dog person.

However, he likes to leave people alone (some exceptions with Solomon and blues music). I doubt he has much to do with Tucker Carlson.

To tie dessert first and Thanksgiving together, years ago I read about a family whose tradition is to start Thanksgiving with dessert. Years ago they finished dinner and were taking a break before dessert. Some were out on the porch smoking and the matriarch dropped dead, never getting dessert. In her honor, they now start the Thanksgiving meal with the desserts.
