Tired of the toxicity of social media? Why not join Ricochet for just $5/month? Think of it as an online bar. Come in, have a drink, hang out, say whatever you want. But don’t badger, bully, or berate the other drinkers. That's our only rule.

Today’s show is PACKED. Mitch McConnell returns to the Capitol after online death rumors, while Vice President JD Vance joins a major federal crackdown on suspected pandemic-era fraud. The Small Business Administration says 870,000 borrowers tied to an estimated $39 billion in suspected PPP and EIDL fraud have been suspended from SBA programs.
The Chicks also get into the Supreme Court’s decision rejecting the Trump administration’s attempt to impose new mail-ballot restrictions ahead of the midterms, California legislation restricting the hiring of former federal immigration officers for many state and local government jobs, and reported federal scrutiny involving Rep. Ilhan Omar. Public reporting says Tom Homan acknowledged an investigation but did not disclose evidence or specific allegations being investigated.
Then it’s on to Kamala Harris dodging another 2028 question, Pete Buttigieg teasing his political future, and a much bigger conversation about artificial intelligence. A viral AI researcher warning kicks off a debate about whether rapidly advancing AI poses a genuine threat—and whether government regulation would actually make things safer.
Plus: Macklemore’s “Free Palestine” controversy, politicians weighing in on the dispute, the Goo Goo Dolls taking a very different approach to politics at concerts, and a full Emmys fashion roast to close out the show.
