We’re late –really late– so we’re going to make this brief: we’ve got our old friend Mickey Kaus to talk about Biden’s immigration policy, California politics, and other assorted ephemera, and we’ve got Mary Eberstadt on her book Primal Screams:How the Sexual Revolution Created Identity PoliticsWe also punditize (yes, we just invented that word) Biden’s press conference, and debate what city would be better to move to: San Francisco or New York.  Finally, what does “Zoom, Duck, Milkshake, Cinnamon Toast Crunch” mean? You’ll have to tune in to find out.

Speaking of Amazon simply following the tax laws that Elizabeth Warren passes. This is a great interview. Marc Faber makes a great point. Progressive taxation and redistribution is simply countered by wealthy people stealing it all back with the Federal Reserve. Can anybody point out anything he says that is wrong? It’s a stupid system where you are stupid to not use it to steal from your fellow citizen. And then everybody pays a cut to the government to do it.

I’m not sure you can really make the wages of the bottom go up given all of the automation and globalized labor. I think we have to switch to a deflationary economy and live off of better purchasing power. Of course this would be pure hell too effect.

The Mary Eberstadt segment was the best version of that type of thing I have ever heard.

Just do what Trump did in 2019 before the Pandemic.  Create a labor shortage.  When labor is scarce, the cost goes up and people get paid real wages.

This gets really complicated, but the problem is the cost of capital is artificially low because of bad central banking. Paying for robots, and setting up operations overseas is too cheap. All of this happens more humanely when you have natural interest rates. If you listen to long interviews of Steve Bannon, he basically says this.

I think it’s madness to have a positive CPI right now. We have too much debt and there are Geo political reasons we can’t do it though. You have to address it in other ways, which is what Steve Bannon’s trade policy is about, I think.  It’s very unhelpful when Republicans over simplify this stuff.

I get it. It’s not “gloom, boom, and doom” anymore. Under moronic Leftist Democrats like Warren, with creepy, corrupt, catatonic Biden in the White House there’s a gloom boom and we’re doomed.

Of course these musty old guards are on Amazon’s side. My God. I guess shouldn’t be surprised. Tell us more about the future of conservatism and how it’s literally just every Reagan policy only in 2021.

Each of those big tech companies has become an abomination. Full stop.

Andrew: Tell us more about the future of conservatism and how it’s literally just every Reagan policy only in 2021.

    If only.

Reagan’s Alzheimer’s was too convenient for the establishment end of the GOP not to take advantage of and they deliberately engaged in a 20+ year strategy of bait-and-switch with their base.

They extolled the American worker but sent his job overseas.

Worst yet, they did 180° on Communism. Where Reagan fought it almost every day of his post-WWII existence the Bush crowd decided to get in bed with the CCP.

They talked pro-life and increased funding to abortion providers.

They talked fiscal responsibility and smaller government and gave us bigger deficits and a new behemoth security state.

The GOP is not interested in a Reagan redux and have no idea how resistance to that created something far worse for them: Donald Trump.

Rob asserts that voter turnout is great, 135 million total or something, seemingly without any thought about whether a significant share of that number might be improper/fraudulent.  And that’s without regard to who they supposedly voted for.

Nobody should celebrate “voter turnout” when you have things like 150 votes coming from a place with 100 people.

Rather loud music buried the talk at the end.  It plain started too soon, and it was at full volume right away.

Good across the board.  Are enough people with any kind of power engaged or involved enough to change our prospects? We’ll know in two years i.e. the election is stolen or not and if stolen it’s too  late.  Being prepared to separate may wake enough folks up to turn us toward sanity. If not prepared by the mid term elections and they take power through election shenanigans its over.  Seems insane but just being capable and organized to separate may  be enough. The Chinese (besides our own left) are the threat that must be addressed.   If this administration doesn’t address them effectively and steals the next election what other choices are there?  That choice must be organizad after inflation has awoken more folks early next year.

So surprised that “Illegal Alien” can still be found and played. Especially offensive in light of Phil Collins’s accent bit. You could that in the ‘70s. Must be from Blue Yeti’s private collection.

So I started from the beginning, and I soon found myself thinking “Is this a dagger I see before me…” and then heard myself mumbling, “To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow…”

And then Mary Eberstadt suddenly started speaking and I was like, “No, the world must be peopled! When I said I would die a bachelor, I did not think I should live till I were married!”

And then she left the stage and I was yelling, “A plague upon you, murderers, traitors all! I might have sav’d her; now she’s gone fore ever! Cordelia, Cordelia, stay a little…”

    ;)
