It’s always must hear podcasting when our good friend Ann Coulter stops by and this episode is no exception. Ann’s new book Adios America: The Left’s Plan To Turn Our Country Into a

UnknownThird World Hellhole is as provocative as the title suggests, and the conversation does not disappoint, including but not limited to her choice for 2016 (hint: Doc Brown needs to start warming up the DeLorean). Also, what’s the big deal about inequality?, why Denny Hastert’s indictment is a danger to us all, should there be a non-CoC  area of Ricochet?, and yes, we have the balls to criticize FIFA.

Music from this week’s episode:

America by West Side Story

Ask Ann if I can get a hug.

Of course I jest.  I couldn’t have been happier that she didn’t fall for a cheap stunt.

I think Mr. Robinson is right that no candidate is or will be running on the Coulter platform. I do not get why he’s so happy about it.

Then, too, self-deportation is an ugly word–certainly, it looks like a political loser as a phrase, with the eager concourse of the center-right!–but self-deportation the fact is good to mention–properly redubbed net outflow. So if it’s toilet flushing talk, that’s better…

Finally, if the ugliness of what you see causes you to despair, maybe politics is not the way to go. Lotsa ugliness. It seems like immigration really divides the voters & the people who tell them how they should vote, for whom & why.

No one needs to do divine wrath so long as they’ve got the goddess of war doing it, but the GOP for amnesty business did not work when Mr. W. Bush tried it (McCain-Kennedy)–nor when Sen. Rubio abandoned his electorate for the Gang of 8 bill–nor yet when Mr. Obama promised he’d do the executive order.

It’s time for another Sen. Rubio deal? Is it ever time for people who talk right-wing politics to come up with something sensible & workable that might live up to the goddess of war standards instead of dismissing her so haughtily?

Always glad to see Three Amigos love.

The lastest issue of Esquire lists the “Lip balm” gag from the film among the greatest jokes ever performed.

Made in the decade when Chevy Chase was still funny.

And, of course, the film does have a spiritual side.

And I agree with those who think another body could have been found for Ann: women of three amigos

Did you ever know someone who goes unpleasantly hysterical at certain subjects? Most people just avoid those subjects. This is the situation we are in with the Democrat/Media complex. We know the fight they put up over utterly ridiculous things like the Cowboy Poetry Festival or common sense things like Voter ID now imagine the hysterical screaming if someone were to suggest undoing anchor babies and several other of Ann’s suggestions. Ann also accurately showed how the media can make ‘apple pie ‘ into an unforgivable gaffe. Between the hysterical sheiking and the media pummeling you would need unbendingly strong Republicans not only in the Presidency but also in congress. Are there such people? Most of our current crop seems to have knees made of slinkys. They are not ready for the onslaught.

So, with Walker, Perry, Jindal, and (possibly) Kasich in are the senators marginalized? If so does that hold true for Rubio as well?

    boom!

some interesting points in the interview.

    • 50 million illegal aliens in america (at 330 million population, that’s over 10%!!)
    • reminder that Rick Perry pooh pooh’s the border fence (they will just bring a ladder)
    • 20 billion USD sent to mexico by illegals
    • demographics have changed to the point where Mitt Romney had a better showing than Ronald Reagan but still lost
    • etc. (I know I’m forgetting something.)
    • I assume these facts are verified by details in the book

Ann Coulter had a good interview on the Dennis Prager show a couple days ago too.

I’m glad Ann stood up for “self deportation.” People come here of their own free will, and ideally they will leave of their own free will. This is alternative to rounding them them up, which is hard to imagine doing to tens of millions of people. I was astonished when it was criticized as being a terrible idea.

English Music HallNaw. Back in your English Music Hall days when you packed them in The Fascinating Widow (at the Grand Opera House in 1911) you had the best hats.

Ann Coulter did very well, except for the part when she reverted to being head cheerleader for Team Romney and calling all his critics jealous losers.

I’ll pass that along! ;) The point I was en route to making was how the popular culture swiftly defined the parameters of acceptable debate re: Jenner. Courage and celebration on one side, fearful monkey-hooting PHOBES on the other. I mean, look at that cover photo! She’s hot! If you’re an old-school double-plus hate-bag who says “well, as the sailors used to say, if yarbles have he, no woman be ye” you are not only denying a Personal Truth, you are invalidating the experiences of innumerable Trans people, and your participation in the discussion is severed and cauterized. It’s a peculiar twist from a demographic that relies on an appeal to Science! for most of its arguments.

Compared to President Obama, Mitt Romney (or John McCain) would have been great. I think she’s right in that regard about Mitt Romney.

But since he’s not running, I really wish she would have answered the question about the candidates who have said they were running so far.

Even a “Well, I wish Mitt Romney were running, but since he isn’t (yet? it’s not too late Mitt!), I think x, y, and z candidates are the best we are going to get when it comes to stated immigration policy.”

Instead she gave off the feeling that none of them were good enough and she wanted Mitt back.

When is “too late” to get in the race? I don’t follow this stuff closely enough to know when people usually get in, and how things have changed over time to answer my own question.

p.s. I apologize Miss Coulter for playing Monday morning quarterback. Unscripted interviews are tough.

Yeah, well, there is no one who has taken up the issue. You have candidates who are trying to back away from pro-immigration, like Sen. Rubio, but also Gov. Walker at a smaller level &, I suspect, Mr. Perry. You also have candidates who seem to be getting worse like JEB. I think she is making it her job to make immigration an issue; I hope Ricochet does not make it their job to make that impossible.

If Coulter is on the podcast again about immigration, Sowell should be on too. Let him weigh in on pre-modern immigration vs modern immigration.
