John Yoo is away this week, so Hillsdale historian Richard Samuelson joins the Three Whisky Happy Hour for an extended discussion of the passing of Paul Johnson, and especially why he deserves to be considered one of the premier historians of all time.

But first we rummage around in Joe’s garage (Joe Biden that is), where the lyrics to Frank Zappa’s tune by that name seem appropriate:

This is the PoliceGive yourself upWe have the garage surrounded

Everday this goes on around here!

Is this a ramping up of “Operation Dump Joe” so that Kamala can become president in a week, suddenly eligible to serve ten years?  The good news is that KAAAAH-mala (as one of our bartenders likes to call her) has re-emerged from her holiday hiatus—or has she escaped from the Democrats’ witless protection program?—offering some fresh inanities about the Caribbean and Venn diagrams.

You can pretty much guess this week’s exit music by now.

This is just the tip of the iceberg:

There’s much to the Joe’s Garage story that isn’t being told. According to Breitbart, Biden said, when responding to Peter Doocy’s question (“what were you thinking??!?”):

I don’t know what’s in the documents. My lawyers have not suggested I not ask what documents they were.

The official White House transcript claims Biden said the following:

But I don’t know what’s in the documents. I’ve — my lawyers have not suggested I ask what documents they were. I’ve turned over the boxes — they’ve turned over the boxes to the Archives.

The conventional wisdom is that Biden’s lawyers told Biden not to ask what is in the documents – that’s Byron York’s take.  But that’s not what Biden said, and it’s not what the transcript says that Biden said.

The words in the transcript appear to me to be lawyers trying to tell anyone who asks, “we did NOT tell Biden not to ask what’s in the documents.”

There’s clearly probable cause to suspect a crime was committed. I want the lawyers who drafted the statement that Biden read to be questioned under oath regarding

    1. what they wrote; and
    2. what they meant by what they wrote.

I then want them asked – under oath – if they advised their client that his possession of classified documents is a crime. I then want them to explain why none of this was communicated to the DoJ for over two months.

Something is rotten in the state of Delaware.

Good podcast. When I took the train from Union Station to Williamsburg in December 2021, there were many homeless camped in front of the station. I’m sure that has done wonders for business there.

They cleared them out in late October just before you-know-who used Union Station as a setting for a speech. Sort of like El Paso last week. (Hint: It was that guy sensible people call Brandon.)

Having known too many people who have known Dana Perino for too long and speak of her innate decency and intelligence, I am more than a bit surprised by the level of angry hatred you expressed towards her….

Trump, on balance, had fine policies BUT is all too often NOT a nice nor decent person.

ASK PEOPLE who had to deal with him in business—but he does also have a philanthropic side. Swell…

Biden is a dolt and his policies and appointments are a horror… but he may have been gracious to Perino and people she knows. Both those things about Trump and Joe can be true. But because SHE didn’t demand Joe’s banishment from society does not= let’s hate Dana.

You really jumped the shark this time…

Miranda Devine of the NY Post published an article several days ago now, saying that the garage where Joe Biden kept his Corvette is not at his house. He doesnt own that garage, or the house its with. Its Hunter Biden’s garage and house. According to his driver’s license Hunter was living there at the time these documents were in the garage…

My thought is – when Joe would come over and visit his Corvette maybe the pile of documents in the corner was a dead drop for Hunter – or his friends. To pick up documents that they could study to profit from…

    Just wondering…

There are many examples of Trump being kind and decent, without fanfare, to ordinary folks. There may be such stories of Biden, but I have never heard one, even from Dana Perino.

But put that aside.  This was the final straw that solidified my opinion of Dana Perino, https://www.independentsentinel.com/fox-news-is-now-cnn-transgender-transitioning-from-0-5-years/

I did say he has a philanthropic side….he’s not Mother Theresa nor Simon Legree —my point is really that her not being in attack mode vs Joe doesn’t, in my humble opinion earn her the verbal mugging you directed to her.

    I could be wrong.

You’re passionate about ‘stuff’ and that’s one of your more endearing/interesting qualities but I was taken aback by this specific attack.

(By the way…I got back from a 42 day cruise and NEVER missed a single 3Whisky Happy Hour, even cruising off the coast of Oman or docked in Singapore. It’s the best thing on Ricochet.  Thanks for all you and Steve and John contribute.)

Lastly, I’ve seen LOTS of FOX treatments of the trans movement and they’ve been virtually 100% in lockstep in condemning the movement —from the morning shows to Martha McCallum to The Five to Tucker….that she didn’t call the parents sick/nuts/troubled/immoral if not amoral (as I do) does not equal an endorsement.

It was a minute and a half segment during (ugh) Pride week….But if one hated her before the segment…??

I just joined this site solely because of Lucretia.   I stumbled upon it searching for a podcast that , it turned  out, was not on Ricochet.  My first scroll down found Conversations with Bill Kristol.  For some unknown reason , perhaps the influence of the Paraclete , I continued to discover 3 Whiskey .

Last weekend’s podcast sealed it for me.  The commentary on Perino and Rove pierced the corporate veil of Bushie-dom, I am delighted to see , reading above .    If you are a conservative like me, who was sold out by corporate , establishment gluttony , who palpably ignored every social and economic policy position that I embraced , lied to me continually by saying all the right things on Fox  in an effort to secure permanent reelection, in finding Lucretia , I found my voice amplified .  All of our voices , that is.  The Saturday podcast loads can’t come soon enough .
