Am I missing something? If Bridget Phetasy is basically a comedian – or maybe comedian/alcoholic – why was she the Playboy Advisor? Did she give advice on how men and women can make fun of each other’s wardrobes or sexual peccadilloes, or something?
Don’t know what garbage Bridget went through on Twitter that caused her temporarily stepping away, but always good to hear her here.
Can relate to the long slog with writing. Never expected to have a sizable run writing for various musician-oriented magazines. College degree was business-marketing, but a chance internship at the Palo Alto Weekly gave me the bug. Soon found myself interviewing and hanging out with all kinds of musicians, which wasn’t that different from my childhood (both parents were SF-based jazz pianists). Never expected to pay a PG&E bill with it, then did. Took many years of freelance cowboy-ing outside of “real jobs” to get good, good enough to get hired as an Assistant Editor and have the privilege of telling a particularly awful boss, “Bye.”
