Ricochet is the best place on the internet to discuss the issues of the day, either through commenting on posts or writing your own for our active and dynamic community in a fully moderated environment. In addition, the Ricochet Audio Network offers over 50 original podcasts with new episodes released every day.
Dave writes to us, “I asked folks over on the member side to throw some questions at me for the podcast, and boy did they ever respond! I got questions on everything from private detective work to trucking, from work as a military historian and Security Forces member, and all the way to politics and Catholicism.” It’s pretty evident to us that Dave enjoyed answering your questions, and we’re pretty sure you’ll enjoy his answers too.

Fascinating Podcast, Dave. You have a very interesting background. Thanks so much for answering my questions. Your comments about me were truly kind, and I thank you for them. I am not interested in getting into your political answer right now. We do have differences, but I was just mainly interested in your thoughts on Trump. And I did find them interesting.

And more Étouffée, and more jambalaya, and more boudin, and more gator, and more beignets, and more of dem good music, and more smiles and laughs, and more red beans and rice, and more of dem hurricane drinks, and more jazz, and more Catlick church, and more Mardi Gras, and more LSU football, and ….wait,…where you goin’ ! You favorite cheese is Swiss. Is that the whole story?
Can’t say that I had any experiences quite like that. But at least now I can pronounce the term. Thank you!! Then there was that one case where this lady,….aw never mind…
Argh! First, the proper spelling isn’t Shamus, it’s Séamus or Séamas or Seamus (Anglicized). Second, what was that pronunciation?!? It’s very much like the Irish version of John=Seán/Sean/Shawn.
Don’t listen to Bogey, Dave. It’s SHE-məs. IPA is
Spelling Nazi! ;)
You bet your bippy!
Good podcast, though. I think it’s funny that you read quotes for fun.
I enjoy reading them quite a bit. I just don’t read them out loud. The pronunciation leaves something to be desired, as I think you’ve discovered.
Hey Dave, if we can get Jon Gabriel to sign up for Quote of the Day, you’re always welcome to join him!
I loved it, Dave.
Thanks, Dave. Loved the podcast. And you got the pronunciation of my name right! That doesn’t happen very often.
Well that’s a relief. I’m not known for pronouncing things correctly the first one or two hundred times. I’m delighted you enjoyed the podcast too!! Thanks very much for your kind remarks!
I need to learn more about this. I’ll do some looking in the next few days. I kinda sorta very much belong to the company dispatcher Monday through Friday, but I’ll give it a look.
