Ricochet is the best place on the internet to discuss the issues of the day, either through commenting on posts or writing your own for our active and dynamic community in a fully moderated environment. In addition, the Ricochet Audio Network offers over 50 original podcasts with new episodes released every day.
Our old friend DC McAllister recently wrote a fascinating article at The Federalist titled, “Why Demanding Equality in All Things Makes Us Narcissists.” Which prompted Dave Carter to sit down with DC and explore the issue in-depth. We think you’ll find their exchange interesting, to say the least.

Welcome back, T’Pol!
@dcmcallister
Nice podcast guys! I love it when you get fired up, D.C.
As I was listening to the podcast, Margaret Thatcher’s exchange with the lefty came to mind. It was great to hear it mentioned. A more extended discussion with some visual aids.
D.C. McAllister, I think you said : “Cruelty is facilitating delusions that you are self defined rather than other defined by God.”
The ways we facilitate those delusions in ourselves and others, and what we need to do to begin to cease doing that—what changes we need to make in the way we use language, and in our habits, so that we, at least, aren’t feeding, in ourselves and others, the crazy delusion that we are whatever we define ourselves to be—I’d love to read anything either you or Dave Carter write on that.
Looking forward to reading the essay on which this podcast is based.
Great podcast !
Here’s the link to DC’s compelling and insightful essay. Thanks for the kind words!

Thank you. I know good and well that I inserted the link into that comment,…and didn’t realize it had not shown up once my comment posted.
Another great episode. Thought provoking. Thanks Dave, DC is excellent.
So Denise, are you saying that (1) our denial of, and resentment over, the fact that we are, and will always be, both unequal in abilities and in the same opportunities, and also that our failure to recognize and respect our interdependence, is caused by our conscious or unconscious denial of God’s authority over us ? And are you also saying that (2) while this tendency to deny God’s authority was there from the beginning, it’s gotten gotten far worse ?
Thank you, Dave! It was great to hear from D.C. again!
