Ricochet is the best place on the internet to discuss the issues of the day, either through commenting on posts or writing your own for our active and dynamic community in a fully moderated environment. In addition, the Ricochet Audio Network offers over 50 original podcasts with new episodes released every day.
Dave sat down with Ricochet Co-Founder Rob Long, an event which he described as, “…one of the precious few times I’ve ever sat down for a conversation with my boss and actually enjoyed the experience. In fact, this was insanely fun.” In this episode of Radio Deplorable, Rob and Dave enjoy a wide-ranging conversation that explores southern cuisine, Cajun culture (there’s actually no contradiction in that term), the latest trends in the entertainment industry and in comedy specifically, blues music, the state of Ricochet, punditry, Donald Trump and the field of Democratic presidential contenders, and more. We get the impression that both parties to this conversation had a very good time, and we think you’ll enjoy their rapid-paced, funny and intriguing exchange as well!

This is so good I can’t hear a word. I think it may need to be relinked or reposted or whatever that technical term is. Looking forward to the conversation.
Dear Blue Yeti: I cover myself with shame, sackcloth and ashes, etc. My technical error. Everything is fine but I am feeling a little older.
Sounds like me trying to work a stinkin’ cash register.
Another fine show. Loved Rob’s reaction to hearing about the thunderstorm’s coming in.
The stories about the Acadian French language are very fascinating. There is so much history in every part of the world.
Dave Carter for President!!!
Nah, he has too much common sense.
Poor Rob. Trump is doing a good job overall, and Rob, as he says, dislikes the President. So Rob is happy his country is doing well, and hates that his country is doing well because of President Trump. And the mental dissonance is wearing him down.
With respect, and though I don’t endorse all of Rob’s overall characterization of the President, I didn’t hear him make the connection that you’re making – that he simultaneously likes and hates that the country is doing well. I might be appalled to learn that the fireman who extinguishes the fire at my house is cheating on his wife, for example, but that doesn’t mean that I’m both happy and unhappy that he put the fire out. Of course Rob can defend himself,…but I wanted to give my take on it at least.
Please no…. I mean, thanks…but no thanks.
Great interview as usual
PresidentMr. Carter! I loved Rob’s bird sounds. For awhile there I thought he was holding a few in his hands, they sounded that close.Well, a bird in the hand,….nah that’s too easy.
I really enjoyed your discussion of Southern culture – particularly the food and language.
Thanks Scott!!
Although we are waiting for the feast you and Rob will present for our delectation.
Okay. I’m in charge of booze and red beans n’ rice. In that order.
From listening to Rob on the flagship podcast, and guest appearances like this one, I have no doubt that he is pleased at how well things are going. But hates that the President has caused it.
But Rob is still worth listening to, because he acknowledges and is happy with, the country’s success.
I can bring bourbon and brown sugar smoked peaches.
EDIT To be clear, the bourbon is mixed with the brown sugar here, but I could also bring the rest of the bottle.
I like the way you think, sir.
