Excellent advice!
Not giving the movie any oxygen is easy for me, because I don't watch movies based on books (except in the case of Russian movies from the Soviet days).
But redirecting the conversation toward Lewis and his writings is genius!

If Meryl Streep is to play Aslan, I wonder who they cast as Jadis. I think Streep could be a great Jadis.
Christians, in order to share the Gospel, should be intentionally looking for conversation starters. That is why the Gideons, known for placing hotel Bibles, have come up with the Conversations classes that they offer to churches.
Good suggestions, @Dill.

It's another one of those 'but you don't know it's going to be bad!' bits. Yes, I do know it's going to be bad because the arbitrary swaps always signal something that's bad. Here especially because the adapter hates the original.

Which has Jadis as Emma Mackey (I think, can't line up faces to actor names). She's wearing a strange, short armor dress that would not work particularly well either as a dress or as armor.
The book made much of Jadis wearing something strange, and people thought she had escaped a circus or something. With her wearing what she is wearing, they had better keep that all in, especially the line that Aunt Letty didn't approve of bare arms.
(By the way, if you want some good snark on women's "armor" in media, might I reccomend Jill Bearup's youtube channel?)
