DC Jew-slaying
Headline: 2 Israeli Embassy staff members killed in shooting near Jewish museum in DC
WASHINGTON, D.C. — One man and one woman were shot and killed outside of an event at the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, law enforcement sources told ABC News.
The suspect in the shooting has been identified as a 30-year-old man from Chicago, Washington, D.C. Police Chief Pam Smith said.
She also said the suspect shouted “free, free Palestine” after his arrest.
One: You’re not going to hear anything more about “stochastic terrorism,” and how rhetoric produces violence, for a while.
Two: the Taylor Lorenz wing of the left has its new Luigi.

I had to look up “stochastic terrorism”…guess I’m not as well-read as I thought I was.
Gee, PH, you could have told the rest of us:
Stochastic terrorism is a form of political violence instigated by hostile public rhetoric directed at a group or an individual. Unlike incitement to terrorism, stochastic terrorism is accomplished with indirect, vague or coded language, which grants the instigator plausible deniability for any associated violence. A key element of stochastic terrorism is the use of media for propagation, where the person carrying out the violence may not have direct connection to any other users of violent rhetoric (from Wikipedia)
You’re right, of course. I guess my default setting is to assume that most Ricochetti are already up-to-speed on such terms.
Taylor Lorenz, the world’s oldest middle school mean girl. She doxxed The Libs of TikTok account holder then cried her eyes out over “on-line harassment” by people who objected.
The cure for Lorenz is also the punishment for being Lorenz: being ignored until she shrivels up and blows away.
I was about to look it up, too. Thanks, Susan.
Regarding the murders, is it wishful thinking that this guy has the book thrown at him?
Some of us are just loading magazines.
An example is 8647.
Didn’t the museum have a little sign banning firearms? Isn’t DC a gun free zone?
Another example is getting tens of thousands of people chanting “kill the Boer” in a South African stadium. Especially if you are Julius “Juju” Malena, leader of a major political party.
I was sure that it must have been a white supremacist militia guy coming out of a secret Tridentine rite mass who did the shooting given that that is the only real threat to our democracy. Could have knocked me over with a feather when it turned out to be some leftwing sociopath echoing the high-minded ideology of a Columbia undergrad.
The right is warned never to stir up the supposed seething hordes of racists lurking in flyover country patiently awaiting the order from their Fuhrer to arise. But all the violence on the left done in accordance with their violent speech must also be the fault of the right–why else would they be so angry and violent if not for some injustice inflicted by the right?
I thought it had something to do with the perfect air-to-fuel ratio for combustion, but that is stoichiometric.
I haven’t actually commented on the incident yet. My first reaction, as a Jew, was “not again.” It’s difficult, time after time, to believe there is a remedy for these acts of protest and violence. How does one stay optimistic?
Maybe the thought that Pam Bondi is now the AG, helps some?
It does, ke, but I want to see results. I’m greedy that way.
It’s still quite early in this administration, and she has a full plate, likely even overflowing.
Thanks. Now I’m really disturbed. Maybe this is her chance to do something right, though.
I haven’t heard differently, so I am going to assume that the targets were chosen more or less at random—meaning that anyone attending the event at the Jewish Museum could’ve been murdered.
According to Time Magazine, “The AJC’s annual “Young Diplomats reception” was billed as an opportunity to bring together Jewish young professionals as well as the D.C. diplomatic community [my italics]“for an evening dedicated to fostering unity and celebrating Jewish heritage.” The event was publicly advertised on the AJC’s website, though the location was only given to registered attendees.
The Jewish Museum is not an Israeli facility but an American one and—side note—one whose calendar of upcoming events is chock full of Pride (LGBTQWERTY).
It is extraordinary that the same people/entities who are constantly imagining racist dog whistles and connecting random violent acts to nonviolent or even anti-violent conservative speech (e.g. Trump’s “peacefully protest…” then deny that the unambigiously pro-violence language on the left might have any relationship whatsoever to actual acts of violence.
I don’t know what to do, other than to keep wearing my Star of David on the outside of my clothing.
I am touched that you are still doing so.
See: Comey, James.
And it is almost funny to watch AOC and the other Dems who cheered on the “from the river to the sea” chants of the Islamonazis in New York, Chicago, LA, etc. try to deny they have been openly inciting anti-Jewish violence for nearly two years now.
I am a very logic-oriented person.
I know that expecting logic from “the left” is a cause for disappointment.
But, the same people who said that then-president Trump’s admonition to “protest peacefully and then go home” meant “overthrow the U.S. government” also thought “Republicans who vote against government spending on medical care means Republicans intend to kill your grandmother” justified (for at least one Bernie Sanders supporter) murdering Republican members of Congress at a softball game, and currently claim that “globalize the infatada” (i.e., “exterminate the Jews wherever you find them”) doesn’t mean “kill the Jews everywhere” (although as I understand the facts, the guy who was murdered was actually a Christian, not sure about the girl), or (in South Africa) “kill the Boers” doesn’t mean “kill the whites.”
This morning (Thursday) a (Christian) men’s study group in which I participate studied Hosea. We have in recent weeks looked at several of the prophets. A consistent theme that emerges is the promise that, no matter how bad the circumstances, and no matter how much the people reject Him, God ultimately will redeem His people. Unfortunately for us (limited lifetime, limited time horizon) humans, that redemption may be far beyond our lifetimes.
Thank you, but it is (or should be) the least one can expect.

Thank you.
Let’s expedite executions for terrorists. They need to make examples of these people.
We had to wait too long for them to 86 Tim McVeigh.
And then there was this:

I thought, cute hyperbole, exaggeration for impact.
Nope. Apparently actually going on.
Townhall article quotes several people cheering on the killer, some explicitly likening him to the also cheered Luigi, the murderer of the United Healthcare insurance executive.
Newsweek has a good piece on it:

But these propagandized students will come around when they hit the real world. I am told. By people explaining why they can ignore the huge problems in the schools.
