Bucks County: Diane Marseglia, Felon or Moron?

The Bucks County Commissioner who said she was knowingly violating the law as expressly laid out by the state’s highest court, justified her actions on the implicit grounds that it was done in opposition to the presumptively illegal election of that notorious felon Donald Trump.

I think we all know that precedent by a court doesn’t matter anymore in this country, and people violate laws anytime they want…

At least I think she was talking about Trump and not the Obama administration officials who bent and broke laws to undo the 2016 election with the silly Steele Dossier. Nor was it likely she was talking about Biden’s lawless actions on immigration and student loans.  Or the malfeasance of federal, state, and local prosecutors ignoring crimes committed by politically favored individuals and groups. Or maybe she thinks that her fellow Democrats no longer believe the law applies to anyone, especially themselves.

The irony here is that according to the criteria of the NYC court that prosecuted persecuted Donald Trump, Ms. Marseglia is far more guilty. Both she and Mr. Trump took actions apparently intended to influence the outcome of a federal election, but Trump’s payment to Stormy Daniels was legal. Marseglia’s publicly, knowingly defying a court order to count defective ballots was not. Lock her up!

She no doubt is one of those who routinely refer to Trump as a “felon” (which, as NR’s Andy McCarthy has noted, he is not until actually sentenced) without the slightest clue that by the same standard, her behavior is worse that his but with no risk of a political kangaroo court trial. So I gotta go with “moron” as the call on this one.

It’s different when they do it. Than when they pretend we did it.

Oh, she’s just one of those women butt-hurt over the overturning of Roe. She thinks she made a statement and is standing up against The Man. Yeah, she’s a moron.

I saw the story at TGP and X a few days ago. Someone asked in the comments, “Where are the RNC and their lawyers?” Good question. Anyone know where this stands today?

Interesting possibility. “Pen and Phone Obama” made it clear that laws didn’t matter to him. But then more recently, Biden has explicitly ignored rulings of the United States Supreme Court (concerning transferring college loan debt from the people who took out the loans to taxpayers who did not.

But, since the County Commissioner who made the statement is a Democrat, it seems more likely that she is claiming the dishonest idea that Donald Trump set precedent by ignoring laws rather than the Democrats who frequently ignore law.

Though it would be fun for someone to ask the Commissioner whether she was referring to Obama’s and Biden’s ignoring of court precedence and law.

She not only committed a crime, she announced that she knew she was committing a crime.

It’s a brave act of civil disobedience. She needs to be locked up to complete the story. She can write Letters from the Bucks County Jail. It’ll be an immediate classic.

How about “Diane Marseglia, Calculated Risk Taker”

The woman probably believes she has reason to think that she won’t be penalized for engaging in what seems to be clearly criminal behavior.

I am looking forward to seeing her proven wrong.

I do believe I saw an X comment from Michael Whatley saying they are there. I am confident in his leadership.

If the WaPo thought those illegal 124 votes would deliver a win, her action would be cast as a heroic, pro-democracy blow for electoral justice.  As it is, it is a pathetic loser move that gives credence to the idea that Democrats routinely cheat.

Embrace the explanatory power of “and.” She’s a dessert topping and a floor wax. She’ll be scraped off onto the plate, then we’ll mop the floor with her.

What is the difference between student loan debt and the debt of an unsuccessful or successful tradesman?

This is the dumbest thing of all time.

The RNC and the state GOP are in two cases in court, one case in Bucks County, and the other one directly in the state’s Supreme Court, seeking to halt counting ballots that under PA caselaw are illegal and not to be counted. Outcome? Who knows?
