Gosh – I wonder if there will be Democrat riots this time?

Any projections on this years riot season?  Are you expecting Black Lives Matter style riots in cities across America, destroying entire neighborhoods?  Or just some bored Georgetown undergrads throwing rocks at DC police?  Will this go on for months, or perhaps just long enough for the news cycle to get the pictures they need?  Will Democrat leaders openly encourage death and destruction, like they did with Antifa and BLM?  Or will they be more discreet this time?

Hard to say, I suppose.  But the only thing that would surprise me is if there were no Democrat riots at all.  That’s just how they do politics.  Violence is not an unintended consequence of Democrat politics.  That’s just how they do politics.  They destroy cities and assault bystanders, then scream that Republicans are violent.

The news is getting boring.  It’s too predictable.

    I agree. There will be outbursts–how serious, I don’t know…

I am hoping for extreme cold and record snow in DC in January to discourage organized violent buffoonery.
Things feel subdued for now. 2016 was a shocking surprise. This outcome was not.

A reporter at Townhall reported that there were (apparently pre-planned) riots in Seattle (WA) and Portland (OR). No surprise. What surprised me was the report that the police in both cities quickly shut down those riots.

My guess is the left is going to descend on DC like locusts for Trump’s 2nd inauguration . . .

Do you think that he’ll react like Biden did?

He would be within his rights to do so.  Biden set the precedent.

I think there will be protests in January, but since Mike Johnson is Speaker, I don’t think they will hesitate to call for help early on. Let them put their “pink hats” back on and march all they want, but don’t riot, burn and loot. All of it just reinforces what was voted against yesterday (or more like for the last 6 weeks). With a sweep of the House, Senate and White House, plus a popular vote win, they really don’t have a lot to run with.

Could things be so bad out there in this country, thanks to four years of Biden and Harris, that there’s no strength left to even get a good riot going?  :) :)

It’s exciting to see the Republicans win, but it does make me wonder about the state of the union. Things must be really bad. Why else would we win so resoundingly? :) :) :)

By their Molotov cocktails you shall know them. — Matthew 7:16 (quoted from memory, so, you know)

I’ve said it before: it’s good that they are not subtle. It’s better that they create enough Sturm und Drang that the press can only ignore it at the continuing cost of its own dwindling credibility.

On that note, I was thinking about the left’s habit of projection today, of the deep lack of self-awareness that prompts it to ascribe its own worst sins to the right. I was wondering: what is the BLM (looting thugs and scammers) on the right? What is the Antifa (violent thugs) on the right? What is the content censoring equivalent of Google or Facebook or etc. on the right? What is the right’s equivalent of “the Squad,” the radical foursome of socialist nutjobs in Congress?

The left is always harping about the danger of rightwing extremists, but the latter seem to be thin on the ground.

I forget which podcast I heard it on, or even roughly which month, but one host thought that there would be little rioting regardless of who won in November. He did think that the energy wasn’t there.

If Trump postpones the inauguration ceremony by an hour, he can assure Nation Guard support.

I think Obama was driving those earlier riots. He connected very emotionally to his followers, and when he left office, he did it with as much tearful drama as a person could possibly muster.

I’ve always believed that’s what caused those riots when Trump was elected in 2016.

The inauguration ceremony is staged around noon when the legal transfer of power occurs. If he shows up at one, he has been Command in Chief for an hour with time to issue orders and stage in forces under his own authority.

If Trump had had an Electoral College win against a significant popular vote loss, they’d be rioting today.

Unfortunately, there will likely need to be the most significant transition and inaugural security in American history.
