Media Bias? What Media Bias?

I have just watched the most blatant, audacious illustration of open and obvious media bias — a 16-minute “interview” of JD Vance by the fair, balanced, totally objective Dana Bash of CNN. She fits right in with the modern journalistic mold to always give the other side plenty of opportunity to state their position—unless they happen to have an R behind their name. As if anyone with a sentient mind who has seen the major networks lately, or who saw the “debate” wherein President Trump had to contend with three argumentative liberal loons needs another example, here it is. This person, anchoring “State of the Union,” refused to let the current Senator from Ohio (and the likely next vice president of the United States) answer questions and state his positions, choosing, instead, to argue with him. I don’t mean to spoil your afternoon, but those who would like to have ready answers for those Democrats who try to tell you there is no such thing as media bias should watch every minute of this disgusting—JD Vance’s word for one of her statements—display of rank hatred of the Republican ticket, all dressed up in a nice Sunday suit. It’s probably better with a nice shot (or two) of Mr. Daniel’s finest to help you get through the experience. Here it is:

And what’s this I keep hearing about “male” toxicity? It seems there is another species of that phenomenon busily at work in this election season. Ms. Bash’s reptilian conduct in this interview certainly qualifies her for the latter part of the definition. I stand in awe of Sen. Vance for managing to remain gentlemanly and courteous throughout this train wreck of an interview.

Early voting starts in our state on October 21. Please, please, please vote early to avoid having your vote discarded by the chaos sure to occur on November 5. Please.

God Bless America!

Something even more disgusting than this bimbo is reading the comments on youtube. Half the comments claim that Vance made a fool of himself, that he is lying, and so on. Are they professional trolls, bots, idiots? Or Kamala supporters desperate for attention?

Vance should offer an interview to Bash every day until the election.

I’m bored with the game. Harris should submit to an hour interview with Mollie.

Perhaps he should have a camera crew at the ready and call her every day. Post the videos of the conversation.  If she refuses the call, post the video.

One comment Bash made is telling. She was accusing Vance of causing the bomb threat at the hospital, based on comments by the mayor. Vance pushed back, and she finally said “Well, it certainly looks like cause and effect.” Bad journalism is what it is.

Bash, like most of the media these days, does her reporting at a respectful distance.  Phone calls.  Texts.  Social media reports. “Statements from the City Manager.”  God forbid that she, or any of her minions should send a reporter into the field to actually speak to to the unwashed populace about the issues they are facing.  Like reporters used to do. Like Selena Zito, almost exclusively these days, still does.

Somewhere (I can’t find it anymore), there’s a piece on YouTube in which Christiane Amanpour interviews someone like Sarah Sanders or Kayleigh McAneny during which Amanpour keeps telling either Sanders or McAneney that it’s her job to provide the supporting documentation to “prove” any claims she makes.  It never seems to occur to her (Amanpour) that perhaps she should do some actual investigative reporting to determine what’s true.

As for the poor gentleman whose son was killed in the school bus traffic horror, I don’t know what enticements have driven him to say “I wish that my son, Aiden Clark, was killed by a 60-year-old white man,” but whatever they are, they are shameful. Poor man.

Vance caused an FBI undercover agent to call in the bomb threat. He’s a bad man.

Vance seems to do a pretty good job of keeping on message. Open borders have not been a good thing for this country given the present conditions of the world.

Fair to say that without video, the cat story is anecdotal. Bash demands proof. Bash asserts that some employer is hiring Haitians (might be displacing Americans, but ya know, it’s an anecdote and she doesn’t care.) Which is apparently the same as a fact for the purpose of this anecdote and must be answered by Vance.

Tell you what’s not an anecdote: all 18,000 Haitians  in Springfield are not employed, and that almost all of the newcomers lied about amnesty.

Apparently Vance needs to apologize for inciting psychos to make phone threats (What are the odds that the threats are coming from Democrats?), but Kamala’s constant over – the – top lying about Trump made him a gunman’s target. Twice. No need to ask Kamala if she has any regrets about inciting actual violence.

When Wikipedia won’t tell you the Mayor’s party, you have to guess.

I could be wrong, but I thought Bash looked fearful. I think she realizes — most of the media people probably do — how vulnerable they are when talking one-on-one with an intelligent, self-controlled conservative. Vance is good at this like Tom Cotton is good at this. Both of them know how to return to the issue they want to discuss, and in doing so reveal how petty and “gotcha-” oriented is the interviewer.

The contrast between the Republican and the Democrat approaches to the media couldn’t be more stark. Republicans spar with the media in order to get the Republican message out. Democrats participate with the media in a joint exercise in strategic obfuscation.

Prediction: Bash and CNN will part ways shortly after the election — not because she’s a Democrat mouthpiece, but because she’s so bad at it.

Fearful. I hadn’t thought of her expression that way, but you may be on to something. The other take was from one of the trolls in the comment section who asked, “Why does she always look constipated?”

I’ve seen this before. Clever liberals—like the kind who land jobs at legacy media outlets—really do have a hard time with conservatives who are friendly and capable of handily winning an argument. There’s a part of her that wants to lose its cool, but Vance offers no reason to take offense for most of the interview, so the careerist (“adult in the room”) instincts kick in and try to suppress it. To borrow from your (no pun intended) analogy of what’s causing Bash’s facial expression, I’d say it comes from an unfamiliar, and therefore hard-to-digest cognitive dissonance.

If any mikes need to be muted it’s the ones used by interviewers.  I’m tired of them trying to interrupt the interviewee in the middle of a sentence.  If you’re going to “correct” someone, wait for them to finish first . . .

I would like to add that the “nothing to see here, move along” thing can be accomplished simply by having no form to report illegal aliens eating stolen pets.

Since it can’t be reported, there’s no statistics; easy deniability.

“There are no documented incidents of this happening.”

(“Because we made damn sure the documents can’t be created!”)

The standard reported in Springfield was that, if you did not know the name of the Haitian committing the crime, no report would be created. ABC missed the opportunity to report that.

I’m sure it was just an oversight.

The self-righteous assertion from ABC that if the city manager said it wasn’t happening than that’s definitive is peas shot through the nostrils funny. He said that so seriously and earnestly that I knew there was not a single brain cell in his entire body.
