The City That Wants to Be a State

The so-called protest in Washington, DC over Netanyahu’s address to Congress was a riot.

Our officers on the ground did everything they could to protect life and property. In fact, despite having only 29 officers available to mitigate damage — 29! — with no additional help from the Department of the Interior, we processed several arrests for charges ranging from assault on a police officer to destruction of government property,” Kenneth Spencer, chairman of the United States Park Police Fraternal Order of Police, said in a statement.

A city that probably has more law enforcement agencies than any other city in the US, and which had plenty of time to plan for Netanyahu’s visit, the response was an epic fail. An epic fail that may involve an effort to try and avoid losing votes from the Hamas wing of the Democrat Party.

The OIC (Officer in Charge) of the Park Police should have given the command to pull back to protect his officers. He needed impact munitions and chemical agents to clear the area and disperse the mob as well as more than 29 officers to turn the event into a Pamplona event.

Some defendants of the mob try to rationalize the riot by stating the right to free speech. Free speech rights or protected speech does not include vandalism, assaults, and blocking traffic.

The optics of breaking up a riot are brutal. The optics of not breaking up a riot are no better. The refusal to use the necessary force to meet violence with violence sends a clear message to the rioters that their actions have support from the political class that will protect them.

The Democrat push to make D.C. a State unto itself is such an egregious grab for permanent control of our country that it approaches the level that calls for a civil war. I have a different idea. Break up the entire Federal bureaucracy and relocate all of the agencies and departments throughout the entire country. Make the city of Washington a part of Maryland. It could battle with Baltimore for top spot as the worst city in the USA.

Every Democrat wants these things to happen.

    Every. Single. One.

I don’t think so.  Some are blind, some are not paying attention.   Some are legacy democrats.  You would have a better case for democratic office holders and appointees all wanting these things to happen,  since they act as a hive mind.

I mean the people elected and in office. Capital D Democrats, not voters.

    However, plenty of voters too.

There is nowhere near the number of people on the right who want Democrats dead as people on the left do.

Democrats stand for racism and use of force to get their way. Always have. It is a party founded to protect slavery from the Federalists.

Also, they’re still mad at us because we took away their slaves.

Slave owners demanding reparations in the form of black votes. This is such a deeply disordered republic.

If you see a residence with a flag on the door, why do you immediately and instinctively know that the folks inside won’t be voting for the Democrat?  Just askin’

Tear gas, rubber bullets, then live ammunition. There is no reason that 29 officers cannot disperse a riot.

In England from 1714 to 1967, if the mayor, sheriff, justice of the peace, or other officer read the Riot Act to a mob, it was a capital offense not to disperse; and troops regularly used deadly force to disperse mobs to whom the Riot Act had been read. The Riot Act had problems, so I’m not advocating specifically for it, but it shows that one person with the authority of the King behind him could effectively quell most riots.
