Bio
Grew up in California when it was California. Spent my childhood wandering through forests, swimming in streams and reading books.
Something of a nomad; I've been to 43 states, worked in Spain and Italy; lived in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Toronto, New York City, St. Louis, Philadelphia.
Married to a beautiful, brilliant, tenacious woman, who, in her 20's determined she was going to get out of her depressing birthplace in Siberia and not rest until she became an American. And what a fine American she is.
My career, to the extent there's been one, has varied from retail management to leathergoods design to human resources.
My interests are history, economics and politics. For recreation, I enjoy hiking, mountain biking and swimming. I used to do a lot of skydiving, but, as that's a young man's sport, I'm now trying to master the art of kiteboarding.
The historical figures I most admire are Winston Churchill, James Madison. Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, William F. Buckley, Jr. and King John III Sobieski.

I open Lance's video clips more often than most that are posted on Ricochet. Should Kenneth's tastes control the conversation? I say no. · Jul 28 at 6:05pm
I'm not trying to control the conversation. I'm simply speaking my mind, rather than recycling YouTube videos. · Jul 28 at 6:58pm

It's morning here in the coastal Carolinas. I woke up and had a waffle. Eggo. With margarine.
I said to my wife, "You know, the waffle was crispy on one side and still cold on the other."
She replied, "Just because it happened to you doesn't mean it's interesting."
A wise woman, indeed.
